Adrian's P.O.V

"Billy's..." I stood in the middle of the sidewalk between two very appealing...one more tempting than the other, buildings. The weather today was wet and...who am I kidding just wet and for that I was glad that I wore my boots. "Stefano's..."

The rain was beginning to pour again and I would have to make a decision very soon before I ended up being literally a wet dog. Too bad Vince would no longer have to think about that. Poor Vince, I almost feel bad for giving him my blood. Not like I had much of a choice anyway. That Angelica chick looked as though she was ready to bust my veins open and feed Vince like a baby goat. "Don't worry Adrian you saved him, same way you're gonna save the world of supernaturals in due time with your blood." I scoffed and shook my head at the stupid fucking logic that had become my reality in the past few days.

"Yep, building number one it is." Just as I was about to barge in and feed my money to Billy for and endless round of tequila and gin, the blond hair sliding into the doors of Stefano's compelled me otherwise. With a smile that was genuine for the first time in what seemed like a lifetime I headed to the Italian coffee house.

The smell of freshly ground coffee beans mixed with powdered cinnamon and skimmed milk had become one of my favorite blends of scents in California thus far, however number one remains the sweet, rich and intoxicating smell of her skin, the cherry blossom aroma of her bright blond hair and the sensory whip of my very own personal paradise that once brushed my lips each night every time hers met mine. She was beautiful. Everything about her shined brightly like her aura and I will not stop until the day comes where I can tell her that myself once more...just like I used to. I took a seat in the middle of the semi busy shop, not at her table...oh no...she already thinks that I'm a creep; yet, I sit at the exact angle where I can see just how perfect the sunbeams which entered through the glass windows bounce gracefully on her flawless face.

"What are you having today, Adrian?" The waitress whom I believe stalks me each time I come here asks. "The usual?"

"Oh um no not today...I'm gonna have a...hmm.." I look over the menu once more and smile at the choices. "Number eight please." Smiling at her I hand over the menu.

"Number eight?" She raised an eyebrow. "Are you aware that one is made with gin?"

"I'm sure counting on it, Lydia." With a wink from me she was gone though shaking her head. I always wondered why she never wore a nametag and at first I thought that maybe she was ashamed of her name or very secretive. But, based on the fact that my classic napkin note got her to cough it up easily...I'm guessing she either likes this chosen one or maybe...ha! There's no other reason...she likes me. Did I just call myself chosen one? Damn I hope there's more gin than coffee in that drink.

"Hey...it's Adrian right?" The sole reason I walked into this shop asks me with a small smile, one that I happily return.

"Yeah I am...Cate right?"

She laughs and takes a seat at my table. "Don't pretend that you don't know what my name is. For some strange reason you seem to know a lot about me."

I love the way she flips her hair over her shoulder each time she laughs. "I know more than you can imagine, Cate." I search the rest of the shop briefly before looking back into her innocent eyes. "Where's your boyfriend?"

"I prefer to not talk about that right now." I can see the sadness in her eyes and even though it pisses me off that fucking Reid has that much of an effect on her, I hate when she's not happy. She stirs what I believe is a cinnamon latte with a small wooden stick but she doesn't drink.
