"Vince?"

"Maiores tenebras" He said in a chant like tone with his eyes still closed.

"Vince, what are you saying?" She asked loudly while shaking him.

"Da imperium tuum." He continued.

"Vince, come on snap out of it. Vince!"

"Maiores tenebras da imperium tuum."

"Vince!" She shouted as loud as she could and slapped him across his face. When his eyes opened she jumped as it was the first time she had seen them glowing. The glowing faded and his eyes were its usual color in seconds.

"It happened again didn't it?" He asked sitting up and looking her in the eye. They were both still on the floor from the night before.

She nodded. "You cried out in pain a lot more this time. There was also more shouting and whimpering and you were hotter. It was hard to touch your skin." She wiped his face with her hand.

"I don't know what's happening to me."

"One more thing." She said. "Just before now, you were speaking another language. It sounded like you were chanting something."

His forehead crinkled. "What did it sound like?"

"Kinda like Latin. I'm not sure."

"That's weird." He shook his head. "I ruined dinner. I'm sorry."

"You didn't. It's ok."

"I don't..." He was saying when he stopped and took a deep breath.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"I smell..." He said looking around. "Hey what's that on the rug?"

"Oh that's uh, the wine you spilled last night."

He looked at her with both a confused and suspicious look. "How did Wolf's bane get in the wine?"

She hesitated before she spoke. "I put it there."

"Wait a minute...you know that−

"Yes, I know what you are."

He stood up instantly. "You tried to kill me?"

"Vince please just let me explain ok." She stood up next to him.

"Explain what? That the only reason you were being so nice to me was to get an easy chance to kill me?"

"No, no of course not. I don't ever want to see you get hurt Vince. I care about you."

"You don't care. You want me dead!" He shouted.

"I do not want you dead. If I did I would've left you that day in the street to die. I brought you in my house. I took care of you all night. I did the same last night. It hurts me to see you go through that Vince and I would do anything to make you better. I care about you so much."

"Then why did you try to kill me?"

"I didn't want to. I'm being controlled Vince. I might die for telling you but I don't care." There were tears in her eyes.

"Controlled by whom?"

"I don't know. Some guy just calls my phone and gives me instructions to kill you. He also makes it clear that if I don't do it he'll kill me."

"So a stranger tells you to kill me and you listen?"

"It's like he's literally controlling me. Apparently I met him sometime and he gave me the Wolf's bane. That's how I got it. I don't remember meeting him though; he just said that I did. I don't even know what he looks like either."

"This makes no sense." Vince said folding his arms.

"I know I sound crazy but it's true. A few days ago I didn't believe such things as werewolves and now I see that it's all real. My life has turned into a living hell and a never ending mystery novel and it seems as though the last chapter is ending." She explained. "I'm not ready to die Vince, but I'm not ready to kill anyone either especially you."

Vince was silent and he stared at the stained rug.

"Say something, please." She said her eyes begging for a response.

His eyes looked up into hers and he walked closer to her, holding her face with both his hands. "It hurts when the one person you thought loved you the most was the one holding the gun that shot the bullet through your head." He whispered, let her go and walked out the door.
