A: Double digits BABY! lol...help me celebrate by finding someone to play Josh...any suggestions?
“James?” I manage to choke out.
He opens his mouth, probably to rant some more, but has it clamped closed.
“Excuse him, he uh, had too much sugar. Uh, yeah I fed him too many cookies and caffeine. Yeah, just ignore him,” Josh says coming out of nowhere.
“Josh?” I ask now extremely confused.
“Yeah hey Serenity, well we must be going,” He says grabbing James and pushing him away from me.
“Wha-na-no-Jos,” James splutters against Josh’s hand.
“Bye now!” Josh calls dragging a struggling James away.
“I-wi-pun-ch-oo,” James yells the words still muffled.
“Sure you will,” Josh replies disappearing around the corner.
“Well, that was odd,” I mutter to myself contemplating whether to go after James and let him explain himself or not.
I’m about to walk in the direction Josh went to when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around to see Caden smiling down at me.
“You’re not ditching me, are you?” he asks giving me a sad puppy-dog look. I sigh. Damn him.
“Uh, of course not,” I respond thinking I will just talk to James tonight.
“Good, now let’s go before lunch is over,” he says the same toothy grin appearing on his face.
I smile back. Something about him just feels so…welcoming.
“Yeah let’s go,” I reply linking my arm into the crook of his elbow.
We walk out smiling like a couple of idiots. Once outside I break the silence.
“So where we going?” I ask.
“Where ever you want. Well, as long as it’s near here,” he answers.
“Hmm…well I could use a good Panera salad,” I say.
“You like that place?” he asks giving me a slight incredulous look.
“Uh yeah. I do. I like their chicken Greek salad,” I say cocking an eyebrow. “Got a problem with that,”
He laughs, “Very intimidating,” he says sarcastically.
“And luckily no, I like their ham sandwiches,”
“Then it’s settled,” I respond heading over to the car only to realize I have no idea which car is his.
“This way,” Caden calls from behind me.
I turn to see him next to a motorcycle; a small sly smile on his face.
“You expect me to ride that with a dress?” I ask.
“Just sit on it,” he says trying to hide the fact that he’s chuckling.
