It was the day after Christmas and I had spent the hole day sleeping and watching Christmas movies.

My family and Steph's family had spent Christmas together as always, eating, opening gifts and doing all the things you do on Christmas.

Zayn and I hadn't talked that much since I left but he had called me to wish me merry Christmas. Even doe he didn't sound remotely excited about it I still appreciated it.

My mum and dad were out having dinner with some coworkers so I had the hole house to myself.

The doorbell rang and I went to open it in my pajamas.

"Wanna play?" Stephanie asked just like she did when we were younger but this time she took up a bottle of vodka and a bag of salt and vinegar chips from her bag and smirked.

I nodded and we went up to my room and laid down on the bed with the bag of chips between us and the vodka bottle passed from me to her and from her to me.

"I've been thinking about the future and I don't think I want to get married and have kids" Steph said after awhile of comfortable silence and took a big sip of the liquid.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I don't want to be tied down. Sure I want to be a surgeon but that doesn't mean I want to be at the same hospital my hole life" She continued and passed the bottle to me.

"So what's the plan with Adam then?"

"I don't know, what's the plan with Zayn?"

"To soon to say" I mumbled.

"That's one of the difference between me and you, you want to be happy when you're like 30 and have the package"

"The package?"

"You know, big house, a few kids, a great husband and a great job"

"Yeah I guess so"

"Promise me I will be your maid of honor when you get married"

"No I already promised Amanda" I joked and Steph hit my arm.

"Hey stop it, no violence"

"Well when you have kids I'm gonna be one hell of an aunt" She said and took another sip of the vodka as I laughed.

After some small talk, laughs and a few more sips for Stephanie, (I had only like two sips because I didn't want my parents to see me drunk when they got home) I walked with her home because she was a little tipsy and helped her into bed.

It was ten pm when I was on my way back from the Parkers house I saw some only all dressed in black outside my house.

I panicked and was sure that I was about to get killed when the person turned around and I saw who it was.

"Zayn? What are you doing here?" I asked surprised.

He didn't answer he just ran over to me and hugged me tight.

"What's wrong?" I asked when I saw that his eyes were red and puffy.

He looked like a mess, he smelled like smoke and alcohol, his eyes were red, his hair was messy and his clothes were dirty.

"Come" I said and dragged him inside.

"Tell me what's going on Zayn, please" I said as we sat down in the couch.

"I'm sorry I just showed up like this" Zayn mumbled and looked down at his shoes.

"Will you tell me what's going on?" I asked and then he told me everything.

He told me about all the management meetings, about him leaving one direction and why, when the fans would know, how the other boys reacted, he gave me answers to pretty much every question I had.

"I just needed someone to talk to" He said when he finished.

"You can always talk to me, I will always listen and be there for you when you need it"

I put my arms around his neck and kissed him softly on the lips and I think I could feel him smile a little.

"I love you Lola" He whispered.

And suddenly everything had changed.

"I know I'm an ass like 70% of the time and that you deserve someone much better than me who treats you the way you should be treated but I love you so fucking much"

"I love you too"

His chocolate brown eyes met mine and now they were filled with pure happiness and life instead of sadness.

He pulled me close to him and kissed me passionately.

"Never leave me"

"I won't, I promise"

(A/N) This chapter took years to write but now it's here and they finally said "I love you"!!!! #Zola
