It had been a few days since Lydia returned to them and Caroline had to admit that she was somewhat nervous to see Lydia. She hadn't got the chance to speak to her yet. She wasn't sure if Lydia was actively avoiding her or if she was just busy. Lydia had been running in and out of the hotel, claiming that she needed to go work on her fashion line. Caroline hadn't gotten the chance to ask her about it yet, but from what she could tell, it was already quite successful for a new brand. She may or may not have already placed an order online. Between that and Caroline planning Lydia's wedding with Kol, they hadn't met up yet.

The last time Caroline saw Lydia, her humanity was off and the two of them were in a fight. Caroline said some things that she regretted and knew that she had to apologize to Lydia. She spent the last two years feeling guilty over it. If Caroline hadn't cut Lydia off, then maybe she would've come to her instead of turning her emotions off. Caroline now wanted to apologize. She just hoped that it wasn't too late for an apology. Caroline also had something she wanted to give Lydia, if things went as planned. Well, Klaus wanted Caroline to give it to her. She wasn't quite sure why.

Caroline pushed open the glass door and stepped into the cafe, being greeted by the smell of fresh coffee and baked goods. It was a cute spot, though Caroline was surprised it was empty. She assumed that it was because this area was Lydia's. She probably compelled people to stay out so that she would have a quiet place to come. That meant that it was easy to find her. She was sitting at a table in the corner, a table filled with paper work and her laptop positioned in front of her.

"Hey," Caroline greeted somewhat awkwardly, causing Lydia to glance away from her laptop. She got a look at her screen, noticing a spreadsheet with a bunch of numbers."Budgeting. That sounds. . . Fun."

"I don't have a budget," Lydia responded, closing her laptop."I'm just giving everyone a raise. I probably wasn't the best boss this last little while. So are you just going to stand there and stare at me or sit down?"

"Oh, right, um," Caroline slipped into the seat, sending Lydia a tight smile."S-so how are you doing? Are you ready for your wedding?"

"Well, you're the one planning it so you tell me?" Lydia responded, leaning back in her seat."Or maybe you're here to ask me which Mikaelson brother is the groom. It's Kol. In case you were confused."

Caroline let out a sigh and closed her eyes, knowing that she should've seen that coming."I'm here to apologize. Not start a fight with you. I know that our friendship was rocky before you left-"

"You told me that I liked to be hurt in relationships and accused me of being the Mikaelsons' personal whore," Lydia replied flatly, watching as Caroline bit down on her bottom lip.
