Lydia moved to sit down on her new bed, frowning a bit when she did so at the firm, uncomfortable mattress. She had gotten quite used to sleeping on the plush one she had at her room in the Mikaelson Manor. She was beginning to regret not buying her own mattress, but at least she brought her own sheets. Well, Rebekah did. Lydia had forgotten to buy sheets and Rebekah had an extra set. Lydia had actually forgotten to buy quite a few things that she need. Which meant that Stefan wasn't exactly impressed when it came to helping her move her things into the dorm room.

A smile quickly replaced her frown as she looked up at Stefan, watching him with amusement while he scanned through a list he was holding in his hands, making sure Lydia had everything that she needed.

"Stefan, you're aware that I'm just at college, right?" Lydia drew his attention away from the list."You didn't just drop me off in the middle of a jungle. If I forgot something, I can just go buy it."

"One would think," Stefan nodded his head while he looked up from the list."But I know you and you don't buy things you actually need. I sent you to the store to get essentials and you came back with marshmallows, ice cream, strawberries, and a book on cocktail recipes."

"All of which are essentials," Lydia shrugged her shoulders, laughing a little bit. She wasn't here for the typical college experience. Since she was a vampire who lived with the Mikaelsons and could compel herself anything she wanted, this was more about having fun and moving on rather than being serious about her future."And should we take a look at everything you got for me after? You gave me so much supplies my room is basically a doomsday shelter. And it's not like I'm alone. Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline are right down the hall. And Bek-"

"While I am glad that you made up with Elena, I would still like to make sure that you're all settled in before I leave," Stefan interrupted her.

Lydia let out a tired sigh and slowly stood from her bed, coming face to face with Stefan. A lot had changed the past week. After Klaus left, Lydia decided to listen to him and Elena and go to college. Rae was also enrolled, but unlike Lydia, she would be living from home and commuting so that she could look after her sisters. It wasn't what was planned and Lydia could tell it upset Rae, but there wasn't much she could do to help. Rebekah would also be attending, but one quick look at everything she brought made them both decide not to share a room. Lydia was pretty sure she would have to sleep standing up.

Lydia was excited for her fresh start. It was a nice change of scenery, but she was with loved ones so it wasn't too intimidating of a change. Not much was when you were a psychic-vampire hybrid with powers absorbed from an immortal witch. While Lydia was growing closer with her sister, Lydia didn't want to cling to her or for them to stick together. Lydia wanted to branch out, start a new chapter in her life. With new people.
