George Weasley and I had barely ever spoken a word to each other, yet somehow, during our sixth year at Hogwarts I developed... feelings.
George was in my potions class, there was an incident with one of the other guys picking on some girl, and George stood up to them for her and told them to stop. It was the sweetest and hottest things I've ever seen. Of course they didn't back down, but neither did George, who of course had Fred to back him up.
After class that day, I walked up to George in the hallway.
"That was really sweet, George. What you did for Lucy in class."
"Oh. Thank you! Um, Uh, it was nothing."
"I'm sure Lucy appreciates it."
He nodded his head silently.
"Okay, well I'll let you go meet Fred in the library now."
"How did you know-"
"I um- You guys go there everyday to meet up before next class."
He nodded his head again with a smile and walked off.
Flash forward to today: the first day of Christmas break.
It was early in the morning, before most of the students went home.
George, Fred and I had all become friends, and I even met Ron and Ginny.
I knocked on the twins door and they came out.
"I got you two presents. Don't worry, they aren't matching." I smiled.
"Thanks y/n!" They said in unison while hugging me.
"You're welcome, boys."
They opened their gifts and got happy. I got Fred a brand new pair of pants and I got George a new candle.
"Smell it."
"It smells exactly like you, that's mad!"
"It... it smells like me?" I stuttered.
"Yeah. Lavender and Oranges." He hugged me. "Thank you so much."
"Y-you're welcome"
The twins both went back to their room and I went to Ron's room.
"Woah, what happened?" He noticed my shaken expression.
"I gave your brother an amortentia candle and he said it smelled exactly like me."
"Does he know it's an amortentia candle?"
"No."
"Hey, maybe he just likes the way you smell."
I gave him a weird look and continued on. "What am I supposed to do?"
"Join us on our family break. We would all love to have you, and you could meet our parents."
"I don't want to-"
"You're coming with us." He interrupted.
"Okay."
Later that day Ron and I met at the front entrance of Gryffindor and we waited for the twins.
"How exactly do you feel about my brother?" Ron asked.
I looked around before saying anything. "I really like George." I shrugged. "He's sweet and funny and he always makes me feel happy when I'm around him or talking to him. Every time I see him I get goosebumps and when he smiles, laughs, or even just looks at me I get butterflies."
Ron nodded, letting me talk.
"I'm undoubtedly in love with your brother." I studied his reaction.
"Okay, now how are you gonna tell him that?"
"I'm not. And you aren't either. I'm serious Ron, your brother can't know."
"Can't know what?" George asked, walking up behind me.
"Nothing." I smiled.
His small smile faded and was replaced with a slight look of suspicion.
"I promise." I spoke again, holding his hand slightly. He slowly pulled away with a skeptical look on his face.
"Okay..."
On the trip to their house, George whispered to Fred and Fred looked between Ron and I, shaking his head slightly.
They were talking about me. I cleared my throat and continued looking out of the window.
When we arrived, George introduced me to his siblings, then his mom and dad.
"Hi y/n, it's so nice to meet you. George has told me a lot about you." She smiled and hugged me.
"Thank you for letting me come and stay in your home."
"Of course! Any girlfriend of George's is welcome here."
George was about to correct her but I interrupted. "What room will I be staying in?"
"You'll be staying in Ginny's room with her and Hermione."
I nodded. "Thank you again."
"You're welcome. Go upstairs and relax. Dinner will be ready soon."
I nodded, and looked at George with a smile, he walked outside and I followed.
"Why didn't you correct her?" He asked me.
I shrugged. "I don't know."
He shook his head. "You seem to be saying that a lot lately."
I sighed. "I'm sorry."
"why can't you just tell me? Why does it have to be a secret?"
"It would only complicate things, and I like how things are. I don't want to ruin it."
"Are you snogging my little brother?" He asked suddenly.
"Ron!? Oh my god no! That's disgusting, why would you ever think that?"
"You've been sticking to him like glue. And you two are keeping secrets!"
"I'm not doing anything with Ron, trust me."
"I can't."
"You can't?" I repeated.
"Not until you tell me what you're hiding from me."
I bit my lip anxiously trying to keep away the tears. "The candle I gave you this morning was an amortentia candle." I folded my arms and looked away.
He sighed. "Y/n I'm so sorry for making you uncomfortable-"
"George you didn't make me uncomfortable."
He stayed silent, waiting for me to continue. "It made me freak out at first but once that was over I was happy and nervous. I went to ask Ron about it and what I should do. He told me I should come here and meet your parents."
"I'm relived you're not shagging Ron." He admitted.
"I'm sorry it looked that way." I played with his fingers.
"It's not your fault."
Before we could establish anything, his mom came out.
"You two must be freezing, why are you out here?"
"Just talking mom."
"Relationship stuff?"
"Yes, relationship stuff." He smiled at me and I reciprocated.
She nodded and went back inside.
"Would you fancy being my girlfriend?"
"I fancy that idea a lot." I smiled, leaning on my tiptoes to kiss George passionately.
"dinners ready!" Ginny came outside and gasped before running back in to tell everybody what she just saw.
"You hungry?"
"I could eat."
