"The decathlon is in a week, y/n. I need to study. Which means no more hanging out until it's over with." Peter studied a few different books sprawled around his desk.
"Peter, you can't just take one little break to get lunch with me?" I smiled convincingly but it didn't work.
"I'm sorry y/n. I have to win this decathlon." His focus stayed on the books.
I sighed. "Okay. Is it okay if I come over later and join you and may for dinner? She invited me when I walked in but I won't come if you're just studying."
"Of course you can come back over for dinner. We're having your favourite." He didn't break away from the book in his hand.
"Okay. I'll see you later then. Bye peter."
"Bye."
I exited his apartment and went for lunch at delmars. I knew peter probably wasn't going to eat until dinner so I wanted to buy him a sandwich.
I handed delmar the money with a big smile on my face
"This for Pete?"
"Yeah. He had a school thing coming up and knowing him he's gonna study all day and not eat." I laughed lightly.
I walked back to peters apartment but this time I came through the fire escape.
"Is it dinner time already?" He checked his phone quickly.
"No," I chuckled. "I just wanted to make sure that you ate lunch. I know how you get in the zone when you study."
I handed him the sandwich, and our hands touched softly. He stared up at me.
"Not that I don't like it, but why are you staring?" I smiled.
He quickly took the sandwich and went back to studying.
I blushed and said goodbye again, actually going home this time.
A few days later, Peter didn't show up to school, so I naturally got worried.
After school I walked to his apartment and knocked on the door.
May let me inside and I began walking to peters room.
I knocked but didn't get an answer, so I quietly opened the door and saw him sleeping at his desk on his books.
I walked over to his bed and pulled the covers back, then over to him.
"Pete, hold my hand." I whispered in his ear.
His hand lazily found mine and I helped him up and into bed. I closed his books and stacked them up.
I took his socks off and crawled in next to him. His hand snaked around my waist, pulling me in closer to him.
I woke up to peter having a nightmare.
I turned to face him and put my leg over his, and ran my hand through his hair.
"It's okay. You're okay Pete." I whispered and kissed his forehead.
His eyes opened and he took in our position.
"W-what are you doing?" He asked.
I moved my leg and backed away from him.
"I'm sorry. You fell asleep at your desk do I moved you so you would be more comfortable and then you had a nightmare."
"It's okay. Did I miss school?"
"Yeah. I'm sorry."
I stood up.
"I'm sure you want to study some more so I'll go home."
"Let's do something..."
I smiled. "Really?"
"Yeah. What do you wanna do?"
"Well you've been stuck in this room for a few days. How about we go visit Tony?"
"I can visit tony whenever, I want it to be just us... if that's okay!"
"Yeah. That's okay." I smiled. "How about we go-"
"Can we stay in and watch a movie?"
"Of course. What movie do you wan a watch?"
"Star Wars." He smiled playfully.
"You got it." I put on Star Wars and we laid back down in his bed.
"You're amazing."
I looked up at him and felt a pang in my chest.
"Thank you. You're amazing too." I smiled.
The day of the decathlon was kind of hectic for peter.
He couldn't find his school shoes and then when he did, he was nervous about getting the questions wrong and failing the team.
I stood in front of him next to the stage, away from the other people.
I began fixing his tie.
"Peter, you're going to win. You studied all week for this."
"But what if I get so nervous that I just forget everything."
"Why would you be nervous? You've done this millions of times before." I continued tying his tie.
"Because it's nationals. If I bomb this, flash is gonna bully me the rest of our high school career."
"Peter. Flash is going to bully you either way. Now get your ass up on stage and show everybody that beautiful mind of yours."
He took a deep breath and nodded his head.
I started to walk away, but got a push of confidence.
"Hey peter, wait a second." I jogged back up to him and quickly kissed him. "Good luck." I smiled and he turned red.
I found my seat and watched peter as he answered every single question right.
After they won, he walked up to me and hugged me tight.
"You did amazing peter. I'm so proud of you!" I smiled.
Before I could say anything else, his lips were on mine once more.
"Thank you. I couldn't of done it without you."
"You did do it without me peter. I didn't help you study, mainly because you wouldn't let me." I laughed.
"I love you." He blurted.
"Wow are we there already?"
"Are we?" He looked nervous again.
"Yeah. I love you too peter." I smiled and hugged him.
