After Zelphine killed Ysviel, she collapse to the floor. Her companions were laying on the ground a few meters away from her. They were all shocked by her violent actions.
The next day, all the senators and nobles gave up easily and let them rest at the castle. Kuon walks into Zelphi's room, there, Soren is examining Zelphine.
Kuon: How is she Soren.
Soren: Physically, she's fine, the wound that Ysviel gave her healed immediately yesterday. But...her aura and blood structure are different. It's as if...
Kuon: As if what?
There was a long pause, finally Soren spoke.
Soren: It's as if she turned into a demon. Other than that, she's fine.
Kuon: But how is that possible?
Soren: It's not a surprise since she was originally a half demon and angel. I'm curious about how she turned into a full demon, she really is interesting. I'm glad I came along.
Kuon: (sigh) So...is she going to become the next reaper king?
Kai: That's right!
Just then Kai poked his head into the room, he then walks in with Yuri.
Kai: We were discussing this matter with the senators, it's strange how they agreed to the matter so quickly.
Yuri: It's not like they have a choice, now that Ysviel is dead, the princess must ascend the throne or else the entire kingdom will fall. Anyway, what are you guys doing next, me and Kai have our duties to fulfill.
Sloth: I plan on following her.
Sloth overheard the conversation and walked in.
Sloth: At first, I helped her because she saved the children. But now, it's by my free will.
Soren: Then I guess I'm staying too. Interesting things always happen around her, now that she is going to be the reaper king, things are bound to get exciting.
Yuri: It's better to stay together this way. The princess needs lots of support once she becomes king.
Kai: Then I guess the five of us are going to protect her, or is it the four of us since Kuon hasn't said anything.
Kuon: Wha-! I-! Of course I'm staying!!
Everyone laughed as Kuon was flustered.
Zelphine: Shut up, you're too loud.
Just then Zelphine sat up and rubbed her ruby red eyes. Even with her white hair all over the place, she looks even more dazzling than before.
Everyone: Zelphi!!! (Yuri said princess)
With a shocked but happy expression, they all ran towards the bed.
Kai: You're alright!
Zelphine: Of course I'm alright! If anything, I wish I could've splatter Ysviel's blood all over the castle.
We were all shocked by her new evil personality. Ordinary, she was always kind no matter what, did becoming a demon change her personality?
Zelphine: Tee-hee, you should've seen him. He was begging on his knees for me not to kill him, but I did it anyway.
Everyone: (shocked) ......
Kuon: Soren, are you sure she's alright?
Zelphine: Are you implying that there is something wrong with me!
Zelphine gave Kuon the evil eye, it made Kuon freeze and unable to move.
Soren: Um, no Zelphi, Kuon was asking if your wound is alright.
She then stares at Soren and then the tension in the air loosen.
Zelphine: Is that so.
Yuri: Anyway, princess, you should get ready. The senators would like to see you in the throne room once you wake up.
Zelphine: (sigh) So annoying.
Zelphine got out of bed and walked out of the room, when her footsteps cannot be heard, everyone sigh.
Sloth: She's changed.
Kai: More like a different person!
Yuri: But she is still our princess. Don't let her attitude get to you, the reaper king was just like that. Maybe it runs in the family?
Soren: I guess you're right, her words aren't really matching up with her thoughts. Her actions are probably going to be like that too...probably.
Soren is as sharp as ever, he can see right through people no matter how hard they try to hide it. After Zelphine finish preparing, we all walked her down to the throne room. Once we were there, all the senators and nobles gathered around her.
Senator: Milady! You're alright.
Noble: Our princess has returned to us!
Zelphine ignores all of them and sat on the throne chair.
Noble: Let's welcome our princess as the new reaper king.
After that, everyone bowed to her. Zelphine crossed her legs and looks at them seriously.
Zelphine: Get out.
All the senators and nobles were shock.
Senator: P-princess, what do you mean?
Zelphine: I don't need servant who aren't even loyal to their masters, get out.
She was referring to how when she infiltrated yesterday, not many reapers came to stop them. Also of how they summited to her so easily right now. One noble went into a deeper bow.
Noble: Princess, please! We know we were wrong.
Zelphine: I'll ask you again. Get, out!
She was starting to get angry.
Senator: Princess, we served the reaper king for many generations. Each one of us contributed to our race, how are you going to manage without us. If you let us go, the castle will surely be taken over by another race or worse. I beg of you princess, please, give us another chance!
Everyone: Please princess!!!
Zelphine then smiles evily. It wasn't her normal angelic smile, this smile was very dark and beautiful. It had even more secrets behind it than the normal one.
Zelphine: Fine then.
She then got up from her chair and summoned out Zetsumeigai from her ring. Intense dark aura flooded the room making everyone uneasy.
Zelphine: Kneel here and swear your loyalty to me.
Everyone hesitated, to swear your loyalty means that you are bound to your master until you or your master dies. Everyone doesn't have a problem swearing their loyalty, what they are afraid of is that Zelphine might cut off their heads. To fulfill the promise, the master has to put his or her weapon on both sides of the persons neck. It's basically like entrusting your life to your master and using it to protect them.
Kuon swallows down hard, then finally steps out. Sloth followed after him, then Soren, and finally Yuri and Kai. All five of them kneel before Zelphine. She then smiles.
Zelphine: Anyone else?
After awhile, one by one, the senators and nobles began to leave until it was just the six of them.
Kuon: (Zelphi, I trusted you once and got lied to, but I will still trust you again and again.)
Sloth: (I did not do this to return your favor, it's by my free will.)
Soren: (Say what you want but your eyes tell a different story)
Yuri: (Great reaper king, you once told me to do what I feel is right. I will put all my faith in you and your daughter because this is the path I choose.)
Kai: (I know the kind angel is still in there somewhere, no, I believe she still is.)
Zelphine's companions look down on the floor in deep thought, they are all sweating and shaking a lot. They have the chance to back away from this but they used their iron will to stay. One by one, Zelphine taps each of them on both sides of their neck with the bottom part of her scythe. All this time, they thought she was going to use the sharp end of the scythe. Once the tension is gone, they stop shaking and strengthen their resolve.
Zelphine: Soren! Kuon! Sloth! Kai! Yuri! Do you swear to protect and offer your life to me until death parts either of us.
Kuon: I, Kuon...
Sloth: I, Sloth...
Soren: I, Soren...
Yuri: I, Yuri...
Kai: I, Kai...
Everyone: Swear to become your shield and protect you against the world no matter what.
Zelphine: Then don't even think about disobeying or betraying me. If you do, I'll cut you down myself.
Even when she is saying this threat, she had a smile on her face. It wasn't the evil smile she recently developed, it was the smile they all knew from before.
