River's P.O.V.
"Well that was a dumb move..." I stated as I grabbed Logan's arm and flipped him off of me causing him to land with his back on the ground as I pressed my knee down into his chest.
"I did what you told me to do!" He grunted, struggling to get me off of him.
"Yes but then you let your guard down. Never let your guard down."
I finally removed my knee from his chest and helped him up.
"Again." I said.
"You're gonna kill him." Legend stated as he and Cassidy watched from the couch.
"No I'm not... Well I won't try to."
"Wait what?" Asked Logan.
"Nothing... Now come on."
He took a deep breath then started over, trying his hardest to remember everything I told him.
He tried to hit me with a right hook but I grabbed his fist and pushed him back.
"That was way too predictable Logan."
He then threw a left hook then attempted an uppercut but I dodged both.
"You've gotta do better than that son. Remember what I told you..."
He ran at me then ducked as I was about to grab him, circled around me, kneed me in the abdomen, then roundhouse kicked me dead in the face causing me to stumble and black out for about .2 seconds.
He threw his hands over his mouth in shock as I knelt down to try to regain full consciousness while Cassidy and Legend uncontrollably laughed their asses off.
"Oh my god!" Cass exclaimed.
"Dude!" Legend followed up as he literally fell off the couch laughing.
"Holy fuck." I stated, still trying to catch my consciousness yet everything in the room was spinning.
I coughed and blood splattered out causing them to laugh even harder.
"Oh shit..." Logan mumbled.
"Why'd you stop?" I asked, finally managing to unblur my vision.
"Um because I literally almost knocked you out..."
"Next time don't stop until you do knock me out." I retorted.
"Seriously?"
"Yes when you're fighting you don't just stop when you start to feel bad or get scared. That's how you lose. You let your guard down again."
"I feel so bad for laughing..." Cassidy said as she finally started to calm down yet still chuckling.
"Its just the sound when Logan's foot connected with his face was hilarious as hell. River fucking blacked out." Legend remarked, still laughing uncontrollably.
"That sound was my nose breaking." I replied as I stood up and went to the mirror. "Yep, definitely broken. I've gotta give you props though Logan, that was a badass kick."
"Learned from the best."
"Indeed you did."
"Going to the hospital?" Asked Cass.
"Why would I do that?"
"Maybe because your nose is broken...?"
"It'll heal."
"Doesn't it hurt?"
"The pain of the mind is worse than the pain of the body."
Suddenly my phone rang and when I answered it I was met with the clearly unsatisfied voice of Max.
"Cato has a job for us..."
"Oh great." I sarcastically replied. "What is it?"
"I don't know yet. I'm on my way to your place. He's meeting us there."
Every time the words "I have a job for you" escaped from the mouth of Cato, it was never just a simple job. It was always something complicated or extra as hell.
And as soon as he got to my place, he told Max and I about the "job" and it was in fact complicated and extra as hell.
"So you're telling me..." Max began. "You want us to spend 6 hours in a therapist's house.... I have to pretend like I'm a lunatic and suck up to the therapist's wife.... While River scavenges around the house for evidence that the therapist's wife is working with the same people that Peter worked with..."
"That sums it up but its not evidence he's going to be looking for but rather information. We have reason to believe that before Raes killed Peter, Peter was in the midst of planning something. After his death whatever he was planning was held off until now. And the therapist's wife Joanna has worked with Peter in the past. Now we think she's close to taking over the position he once held."
"Why are you sending us?" I asked. "Why can't Mathias or the others do it?"
"Because Joanna knows Mathias and his men from a previous altercation. However, she's never seen you and Maxwell."
"Why do I have to pretend to be the crazy one?" Asked Max. "Why can't River be the crazy one and I look for information? I mean River actually is the crazy one out of the two of us."
"Because you have fairly good acting skills Maxwell. That and you have patience. Talking to therapists requires patience which River doesn't have. And his short temper makes it worse."
"Well you're not wrong..." I admitted.
"I know you two are capable of successfully doing this. Just remember though, River, you can't get caught. If you do you'll have to get yourself out of that situation. Oh and you two can't bring any guns with you."
"But- what if they do find out about us?" Asked Max. "You said this Joanna chick worked with Peter. She could kill us without hesitation."
"Well that's why you can't get caught. Now, go, your therapy session is scheduled to begin at 4."
"A 6 hour therapy session?" I questioned.
"No the session will only be 2 hours because Dr. Owen, the therapist, has a meeting at 7 so he'll leave the house around 6, after the session's over. Max you'll have to hide out in your car until he leaves then go back to the house. When Joanna answers the door, pretend like you left your phone or whatever in there. Joanna's known to be very flirtatious so she will definitely try to talk to you for a while. You just need to talk to her until River is done getting any and all necessary information. Dr. Owens will be back home at approximately 10 pm so you have until then to do what you have to do."
"This sounds like a stretch..." I stated.
"That's why I chose you two. Now get going."
We hesitantly left and made our way to Dr. Owens' house.
I hated this plan.
But we didn't really have a choice.
.................................................
Max's P.O.V.
We arrived at the house right at 4 pm.
I hated every part of this.
We walked up to the doorstep but went over the plan before ringing the doorbell.
"How the hell am I gonna get into the house without being seen?" Asked River.
"I'll find a way. Just hide behind that bush for now." I replied.
After a bit of mental preparation I rung the doorbell.
This was gonna be a nightmare.
The door opened seconds later and I was met with the smiling face of a middle aged man.
"Well hello there you must be Nolan." He said as he held out his hand.
"Uh- Nolan?" I questioned in confusion.
"Nolan Wright... Is that not you?"
"Oh yea sorry I must've... Uh... My mind went blank for a moment."
"I see well why don't you come inside and we'll get started."
Well... Here goes nothing.
I followed him to the living room and sat on a couch as he sat on the one across from me.
"So tell me about yourself Nolan."
"Can I use your bathroom first?" I asked.
"Yes go ahead. Down the hall on the left. I have to go grab something from my wife's office upstairs anyways."
"Thanks."
I casually got up and made my way to the bathroom.
I walked in and nearly shrieked of happiness when I saw a window.
I opened it and stuck my head out to find River.
"River!" I yelled/whispered at the same time. "Riveeeer!"
Luckily he came jogging around the corner before I could call his name any louder.
He climbed in through the window and I quietly closed it.
"Alright his wife has an office upstairs. Wait in here for about 5 minutes though until he comes back down then go."
"Okay. And If anything goes wrong just whistle."
"Whistle? Nah, I'll stick to yelling."
I flushed the toilet then walked out of the bathroom and waited for Dr. Owens to get back.
He came in about 3 minutes later and we started our session.
"Excuse the sharp smell in here, my wife and I made game hens a bit earlier. We love making them." He said. "Okay, now tell me about yourself."
"Like what?"
"Your childhood. What was your life like growing up?"
"Pretty normal. My parents were chill, my sister annoyed the hell out of me, I was on the swim team and lacrosse team in high school."
"Sister? But- in your file it said that you were the only child..."
I had a file?... That Cato didn't think to tell me about?
Fucking perfect.
"Oh well she wasn't my actual sister. She was actually my neighbor that I grew up with."
"I see, and it also said that you went to a boarding school during your teenage years..."
"I meant that I played lacrosse and was on the swim team DURING what would be my high school years."
"Makes sense I guess. So when did you realize you had a fear of midgets?"
I froze and stared at him in complete and utter confusion.
"I'm sorry did you just say... A fear of... Midgets?"
"Yes your fear of midgets."
What the hell Cato....
As much as I didn't want to, I had no choice but to go along with it.
"I was in college and my friend invited me to this party. I agreed and so we went later that night. The thing was though, he didn't tell me that the party was being hosted by a group of midgets on campus. And when we got there, I shit you not there were at LEAST 50 little dwarves just dashing around the building."
"So just the sight of midgets invoked fear?"
"No I wasn't afraid of them then. It wasn't until two hours later when I went outside to answer a phone call and a gang of the little heathens started to surround me. Before I could ask what was going on one of them leaped up from the ground like a frog and latched onto my back. Then another one jumped on my shoulder, don't ask me how, and bit my ear. Next thing I knew they were all attacking me."
"How many of them?"
"12... 12 angry little people."
"So you were jumped by a dozen midgets?"
"A dozen devils." I stated as I grabbed a pillow and shook as I held it against me.
"Tell me... If those midgets were average sized men would you be afraid of men today?"
"They were girls...."
His eyes slightly widened then quickly returned back to their normal state. I bit the inside of my cheeks, trying so hard not to laugh. This was way too fun.
"Well... If they were average sized women, would you be afraid of women today?"
"I- I don't know Doc." I uneasily replied.
"Nolan you shouldn't let the actions of a few control the way you think of a certain group of people. Not all small people are violent.".
"Yes they are. You see, midgets are just smaller versions of people. And the smaller version of something is called 'fun-sized' therefore midgets are fun-sized humans. But I'll tell you what, there isn't one thing FUN about those people. The look they always give me is a look of pure hatred. That's why I never let my guard down around them because I KNOW they're always planning to attack me. Its a fact. They're all violent, bloodthirsty, little creatures."
"So what if one were to walk in here right now? What would you do?"
"I'd pass out. Without a doubt. I wouldn't even be able to scream that's how scared I'd be."
"I see, but Nolan, let me tell you something. You can't judge something by its fringe elements. I happen to know quite a few small people who are actually very nice people. Don't let one minor incident control your view of them. When you let your emotions control you, it blinds you from rationality and being reasonable. That's what your fear is doing to you. You can't let that happen."
"You're right." I replied. "I can't let it control me."
"Exactly. You're stronger than fear. Fear can not overcome you but YOU can overcome fear."
"I can overcome fear." I repeated.
"Are you starting to feel a little better about small people now?"
I sighed and nodded my head. "Yea.... Yea."
"See you're making so much progress already, how about we take a short break. Would you like a snack or anything?"
"I'm actually not hungry right now. But if you have any of those fantastic game hens you make, maybe later."
"Okay then, I guess we could continue on then..." He said. "Joe could you come out here please?" He called out.
I looked towards the hall to see who he was talking to and seconds later a midget came strolling towards us.
This was ridiculous.
But I had to stick to the script, so I gasped and pretended to pass out.
................................................
River's P.O.V.
I searched around in Joanna's office for about an hour and a half but literally couldn't find anything important.
Until I bumped into her desk causing the laptop screen to come on.
As I looked closer at her desktop screen I saw a folder labeled 'FIA' which rung a bell because I remembered that Peter used to wear a badge with the same lettering.
I pulled out my phone and called Cato.
"Are you two okay?"
"Yea we're fine. But I found something on Joanna's laptop." I stated as I sat in the chair.
"What'd you find?"
"A folder labeled 'FIA'."
"Open it and tell me what you see."
I did as instructed but when the folder opened a screen popped up with numbers everywhere.
"Its just a bunch of random numbers..."
"Do you see a pattern of some sort?"
"Not at all. Its literally just random numbers."
He paused for a moment then spoke again.
"The folder's been encrypted. Its a cipher. You're going to have to decode it."
"Can you just put Blue on the phone? He knows how to decode."
"Blue is busy at the moment. You have to do it yourself.""
"Cato I haven't decoded a cipher in years."
"Well you have until 10 pm to refresh your memory."
This day just keeps getting better and better.
...............................................
Max's P.O.V.
"Well Nolan this wraps up our session. You've made great progress even though you cried when Joe hugged you. After our next session or two I believe you'll be cured of your fear." Dr. Owens stated. "I'll follow you out the door as I have a meeting I must attend."
"Thank you so much Doc." I replied with fake tears.
He walked me outside and I got into my car.
I pretended to drive away but only drove down the street and waited long enough for him to leave the house then I made a u-turn and went back. On my way back I called River.
"Please tell me you've found what you needed."
"Not even close. I found a cipher on her computer that I have to figure out how to decode. Its gonna take me a while so whatever you do do NOT let Joanna come into the office. Do whatever it takes."
"I'll do my best." I said with zero enthusiasm.
I rung the doorbell again and this time a hot redhead lady answered.
"Can I help you?"
"Yea I just had a session with Dr. Owens but I think I left my phone."
"Oh come on in." She replied, stepping aside.
She followed me into the living-room as I pretended to look for my phone.
"So what were you here for?" She asked.
"Apparently I have a profound fear of midgets."
"That's- new."
"Very." I retorted as I looked under the couch.
"I'm Joanna by the way."
"Ma- Nolan... I'm Nolan." I quickly corrected myself.
Suddenly my phone began to ring..... In my pocket.
I know for a fact my face turned as bright red as a tomato.
"Oh wow, how funny." I nervously chuckled. "It was in my pocket the whole time."
"Aw so does this mean you have to leave?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well my husband left for a meeting so I don't have anyone to keep me company."
River's words rang in my head.
"Do whatever it takes."
"I guess I could uh- stay for a bit."
"Oh wonderful!" She exclaimed. "We can hang out in my office! I need to get a few things done. Its upstairs."
She started walking upstairs and I went into panic mode trying to think of what to do.
As soon as she went for the doorknob I did the first thing that came to mind.
"Stop!" I yelled.
She turned around with a baffled expression on her face.
"Is there a problem?"
"No I just.... I just thought that maybe we could hang out somewhere else. I have a uh- I have a fear of offices too..."
I wanted to facepalm myself.
"A fear of offices?" She asked. "Well we can go to my room I guess."
"Sure." I replied hesitantly.
This was just getting worse and worse.
I followed her into the room and I kid you not the first thing she did was slam the door shut.
"You can sit on the bed." She said with a wink.
WITH A WINK.
I was starting to regret everything now.
I should have said I was afraid of bedrooms too.
"Its kinda hot in here..." I said, sweating bullets but more from nervousness than heat.
"I'll go turn the AC unit on in my office."
"Oh no that's not necessary."
"I wouldn't want my guest burning up."
"No its totally fine."
"I'm turning it on." She giggled.
"I can just- take my shirt off." I stated facepalming myself immediately afterwards because I didn't realize what I was saying until it was too late.
"Ooo even better." She said with a smile.
I took off my shirt and threw it to the end of the bed....
Then the bitch LITERALLY jumped on me.
She FLEW at me!
She pushed me down so that I was laying on the bed and climbed over me.... clothes and titties flying everywhere.
"Hey whoa what are -"
"Don't fight it handsome." She stated as she tried to kiss me.
I turned my head and tried to raise up but she sucker punched me in the chest hard as hell.
She ripped off my belt and unzipped my pants in like 2 seconds.
Then she reached into my pants and GRABBED MY DICK.
SHE GRABBED MY FUCKING DICK.
"I'm gay!" I yelled. "I'm gay I'm gay I'm gay."
"You're still sexy." She giggled horrifyingly.
She pulled off her THONG and continued to hover over me.
"I'm a virgin!" I yelled.
She paused and looked at me in semi disbelief.
"Really?"
"Yes." I quickly stated. "Saving myself for marriage."
"Fine then no sex..." She said as I let out a breath of relief.
But just as I was about to raise up....
She put my DICK in her MOUTH.
............................
*3 hours after the terrifying encounter*
I sat in bed.... Staring at nothing like I'd been doing for the past 3 hours.... Wondering how the hell I was gonna explain this to Lindsay without her killing me.
"Still not gonna talk to me?" Asked Joanna as she rolled over closer to me.
"Sorry I just..... I'm kinda scarred for life now...."
"Why? Was that the first time you've ever gotten head? Or because of the fact that just had sex with a woman?"
"Sure. Lets go with that."
Suddenly my phone rang and I quickly answered it.
"Please tell me its done...."
"Yea." River replied. "I just got outside."
"Oh thank god. Alright I'm on my way."
I jumped up and threw my crap back on then quickly headed out of the room.
"Leaving already?" Asked Joanna.
"Yep." I replied then basically ran down the stairs.
"Can I have your number!?"
"My phone's off."
"But- you were just on it..."
I ran outside as fast as I could then jumped in the car.
"What happened to you?" Asked River.
"Pretty sure what happened to me is considered rape...."
"Wait did you-"
"You said whatever it took!" I stated. "Plus she kept sucker punching me every time I tried to get her off of me! And I wasnt about to hit her! Even though she was batshit fucking crazy!"
He stared at me in shock for a moment then bursted out laughing.
"Oh shut the hell up River."
"You do know that Lindsay's gonna kill you right?"
"Yep. Without a doubt...."
