Bella remained invisible to everyone except April. Edward would surly recognize her and ask questions, and if he knew why she was here, he would not be able to make a good and complete connection with April. The Druid had to fall in love with her all over again before he realized who she was so the connection could be complete, because of the metal in Aprils body.
Edward stood frozen as he starred down at the witch and his face twisted with hate. The stupid bitch is trying to trick him, he thought, she made herself resemble Julia so his defense could weaken and she could escape!
"Stand up and tell me why you are here witch!" Edward growled, doing everything he could to refrain himself from killing her before he got all the information out of her first.
Aprils heart pounded wildly against her chest, he was going to hurt her again if she didn't obey him, but how in the world was she to stand if she was paralyzed? "Please sir, ...." She begged, "I can't stand, I am paralyzed from the waist down and can not do as you ask." It was a huge effort for her to speak, every bone in her body was aching.
Edward was not going to fall for the witches tricks, he kicked her ribs again and watched with satisfaction as she screamed with pain, "I said get up!" He commanded a second time. Patience was not one of his talents and he decided to make her suffer even more.
Balling his huge hand into a fist, he was about to rammed it over Aprils face when Frank yelled, "Please mister, you'll kill her if you keep hurting her, she can not get up, she is paralyzed!"
Edward nostrils flared and his eyes darkened, "You believe that she is paralyzed?" Edward growled, "She is not paralyzed or helpless, she is a very dangerous witch and can kill you with the snap of her fingers."
"No mister, you're wrong, April is paralyzed!"
Edward snarled, the boy is under her spell too he realized, and dropped his gaze back down to April. She looked so damn much like Julia he thought, as pain surged through his heart.
Angry at himself for allowing the witch to weaken his defenses, Edward leaned over, grabbed April by the shoulders and lifted her to her feet, but as soon as he let her go, she dropped to the floor like a broken doll.
Pain speared throughout her entire body when she hit the marble floor, but this time April did not cry out, she didn't want Edward to smile with satisfaction that he was the reason that she was suffering.
The Druid gut twisted with hatred, but deep down inside, he wondered if what the young man had said was true. If she was not a witch, and she really was paralyzed, he would never be able to live with himself for hurting her. Edward had never in his entire life hurt a woman in this way, he had broken their hearts when he would love them and leave them, but that was the only kind of physical pain that he was guilty of.
What is she and the young man doing here? Why would they be in this castle, and how did they even get in? The young woman had to be a witch, he thought, as his eyes pierced through hers. "You have little regard for your life, I'm losing my patience with you and am about to destroy you, unless you speak the truth to me."
April who was crumbled on the marble floor, and in severe pain, was not able to respond to his threats, so she remained silent.
"Very well then, you will only get that of which you deserve." Edward warned, and as he leaned over to lift her in his arms and throw her against the wall, Frank came up from behind him and jumped on his back.
"Stop hurting her, she is paralyzed and in severe pain!" Frank yelled, and beat his fists on Edwards back.
Edward rolled his eyes and with one yank of his back, Frank too, landed on the floor right next to April. Bella waited to see what Edwards next move will be, but she was worried for April, she seemed like she was in great pain, and wondered if she would ever forgive the Druid for his actions against her.
Edward dropped to his knees in front of April and leaned his head closer to hers. His eyes were hazed with hatred as they pierced into Aprils. "Witch why have you come to Sterlingshire castle? If it's the Tablets you are looking for, you will die by my hands, for those tablets are not to be removed from where they belong!" He told her in a dangerous tone of voice, "and if you use trickery or magic to get your hands on them I will burn you alive!"
April had had enough of this mans craziness, and ignoring the horrible pain in her body, she braced the palms of her hands against the marble floor and lifted the upper half of her body upwards. Edward waited to see what she would do next, but never in his wildest dreams would he have expected what April did next. Tilting her head an inch backwards, to looked him in the eyes, and spit in his face. Bella held her breath, for such action against Edward was punishable by law with capital punishment.
Edward stiffened, wiping the saliva with the back of his hand, he withheld from strangling the witch, because he needed to get a confession out of her first. A part of him admired her will and determination, she was fearless and showed strength and power, traits many women lacked.
Frank held his breath in anticipation of what was going to happen next, when he realized that Edward was not going to end Aprils life, he expelled a sigh of relief and made the sign of the cross, but Bella who knew the Druid better than he knew himself, knew that this was th calm before the storm. Her heart pounded against her chest when she witnessed the vein in the warrior's neck pump blood, as he slowly lifted himself to his full six and a half feet height.
"You will regret your actions today Sabrina," he told her in a dangerous tone of voice, before he lifted her body and threw her over his shoulders as if she was a sack of potatoes. He was not going to let her out of his sight so she could escape. Edward need to check on the Tablets to make sure they were not missing. The last thing they needed was for the Emerald Tablets to fall into the wrong hands.
"Let me go!" She screamed, curling her hands into fists and pounding them on the Druids muscled back. "You have made a grave mistake, I am not who you think I am!" But her words fell on deaf ears.
Edward ignored April and walked over to the east wall. Standing in front of the giant, cherry bookshelf, he muttered a few words under his breath and the bookshelf glided to the right. Frank's mouth dropped open as he watched Edward walk right through the opening with April over his shoulders.
The runes lighted the way as Edward stepped quickly down the stairs until he was standing in front of the iron door, placing his huge palm on it, he recited a few words and it swung open. Stepping inside, the Druid dropped Aprils body on the floor, walked over to where the Emerald tablets were, and counted them to make sure not one was missing.
April was speechless, forgetting about the pain in her aching body, her heart raced as she looked around the familiar room. She was flabbergasted to realize that everything around her was real and not just a dream as she had thought the last time she was here. Pushing herself upwards until she was in a standing position, April was not surprised to find herself healthy once again, by some miracle, this place gave her back her ability to walk.
Edward whipped his head around and his lips curved into a cold smile, of course she wasn't paralyzed, the witch was lying. In two long strides he had her in his iron grip again, "Dont even think of running away witch! For I shall not hesitate to end your life here and now if you try to!" He threatened in his rich Scottish accent.
April did not move, she was terrified of what might happen if she did. Looking up into his piercing gaze, she was mesmerized by his turquoise eyes that gleamed with hatred. Her captor was gorgeous she thought for a split second, before she reminded herself that he was a crazy and very dangerous man.
Edwards heart stopped pumping blood and froze. The witch reminded him of Julia, and every cell in his body begged to touch her, he was confused and desperately wanted to kiss her. Without thinking, he pulled her into his arms of steel and lowered his head. When his lips hungrily crashed over hers, a powerful electrical current pumped through his veins and shook him to the core. Immediately Edward let go of April and jolted backwards, he was breathless and a bit disorientated, and it took him a few minutes to gather his thoughts.
The Warriors thick mane of hair had loosened from the thong and tumbled over his shoulders, his chiseled nose flared and his eyes were hazed with madness, he looked like a wild, sexy beast who was about to pounce on her, but April at that moment and time was not afraid of him, she had not missed the yearning in his eyes and the way they softened right before he planted his warm lips on hers, nor the way he held her tightly, and possesively in his strong arms as if he was afraid of losing her.
April could still feel his lips on hers, and without thinking she traced her lips with her trembling finger. Could it be possible that this stranger was not crazy after all, maybe he was just a man who is seeking justice for something that may have happened to him or his family, and he mistook her for someone else. Maybe he wasn't crazy or dangerous, maybe this sexy beast will realize that she wasn't the enemy and help her to safety, she thought, but as her eyes traveled slowly over his muscled chest and all the up to his dark piercing gaze, all hope was lost within her and she braced herself for what was to come next.
Silence surrounded them, as Edwards muscled chest heaved with anger. The witch had decieved him once again, he thought angrily. She was dangerous and used her magic to trick him into believing that she was Julia.
April eyes did not miss the way Edwards eyes coldly caressed her body from top to bottom, nor did she miss the moment when his body stiffened and his hands curled into tight fists at his side. Was she a fool to believe that he was not a mad man? Clearly he has lost his mind and she realized that she was in a very dangerous situation.
The thought that she was using her legs to stand did not even cross her mind, and the magic room somehow escaped her thoughts as she looked around to find someplace to run and hide, for clearly this man was going to kill her, she thought.
