"Ella," He placed his hands on top of hers to comfort her. "You don't how much this talk means so much to me."
"So, it would change—ok Alec why are you comforting me I'm not even crying." Ella waved her hands around like this talk is already crazy.
"But you will." He told her causing her to widen her eyes in offense. "I mean...I-I didn't-" Alec stuttered to find his words while scratching the back of his neck.
"Alec, it's okay." She cut him off and chuckled. "So, what are we going to talk about?" She asked as he took a deep breath and placed his hands on top of hers; again.
"Okay, is the hand thing really necessarily." It sounded more of a statement than a question. "Yes, Ella just focus."
"Focus on what?" She asked while narrowing her eyes. "I mean listen. Listen Ella." He corrected himself while looking at their hands like it was a miracle. "Alec, at least look at me." She chuckled as she raised his chin so they could be face to face. "Sorry." He looked around Magnus's room to avoid eye contact.
He didn't know how to start a conversation with her. He's scared he would reveal secrets that he's not suppose to reveal. Ella was just staring at him with a tiny smile. She thought it was cute when he was in deep thought. Like he thought he was smarter than her; but it was actually the opposite.
"I knew your brother," He sighed as he looked at her for a reaction. "What?" She asked as she sat closer to him like she was interested. Alec looked at their touching knees and spoke, "We were friends, and I believe that we still are."
"And you didn't tell me this cause?" She looked down at him since he was looking at their knees. "Are you mad at me?"
"No, Alec just-just spill." She sighed obviously impatient. "Mrs.Blitzer is not who you think she is."
"Okay, who are we talking about? Cade or Mrs.Blitzer?" She had the confused mask on her face. "Both."
"Mrs.Blitzer and my mother were friends and they became enemies when your parents died from the fire. My mom wanted to take you and Cade both to the Institute, but Mrs.Blitzer convinced Cade to come with her. He got convinced and then she tried convincing you but you said no you wanted to go with the Lightwoods because Izzy was your best friend." He took a breath that he was holding then continued.
"Mrs.Blitzer taught the kids at the Winter Palace that the witches are some kind of zombies or aliens something like that. And the kids killed humans, witches, wolves, vampires, ShadowHunters because they thought they were the enemy. But the truth is, Mrs.Blitzer is the alien and the people that work there aren't human either. She lied to all the kids because she wants to get rid of us, of humans. She wants NewYork to herself. She didn't care about the kids, that's why she sent Cade to fight the witches. She wanted him to die." He finished.
"We have to save those kids from Mrs.Blitzer and her people or else they all die." He told her as he finally looked at her. Her face was speechless, she just looked at him like this was some movie they were living in.
"So, we don't only have Valentine, but Mrs.Blitzer?" Ella questioned as Alec nodded. "So, I have to find my memories, I have to help you guys save Jocelyn, and Ihave to save the kids?" Ella's eyes started to tear up.
"Yeah, but we are going to help you. I'm going to help you." He soothed her hands with small circles as a tear fell from her. "So, either way someone dies." Another tear fell and Alec wiped it with his thumb. "Not if we work together."
"Do the others know?" She asked curiously, "No, that's why I need your help to prove it to them." She nodded. "Do you trust me?"
"Of Course."
"I trust you too." She told him as she placed her head on his chest and he brushed her hair with his fingers. "Ella." A familiar voice called from the hallway. Ella sat up quickly looking for the voice that called.
Magnus then appeared on the door frame panting. "What's wrong?" She asked as she stood up and walked towards him. "Cade," He raised a finger towards the hallway as he panted. Ella's eyes widened as she ran down the hallway, Alec following.
"Cade?" She called out as she passed a room with people surrounding a table. "Cade?" She asked as she went back to the room and walked in. She walked towards the table as some of the people that were covered in dirt gave her space. She looked down at the feet then up slowly to the face of the person.
As she scanned his body, he was covered in dirt and ripped clothes and scars that were deep. She looked up at his face and that's when it hit her.
"Cade, give me back my doll." 6 year old Ella cried as she pulled the doll from 10 year old Cade as laughed at her.
"What did you name her?" He laughed as she pouted at him. "Kids, dinner time." Laura called out from the kitchen.
"I call dibs." Her brother said as he stood up and ran to the table. "Don't worry Emma, I won't let Cade touch you again." Young Ella said to her broken doll as she brushed her hair.
"Cade." She breathed as she realized who it was.
(I know that's Derek Hale, but this is how Cade's injury is.)
"Ella." He chocked on his words then turned into a cough. "Shhh, Cade I am here." She caressed his cheeks and her tears started spilling.
"Your finally here." She smiled as she sniffled. Cade winced when Magnus cleaned his wound with alcohol.
Ella haven't even realized that Magnus and Alec came. Alec was behind her rubbing her shoulder while she was holding on onto Cade's hand.
"Okay, this might hurt." Magnus told Cade as he nodded in approval. Before Magnus could pull the broken glass from Cade's chest he asked, "Were you bit?"
Cade shook his head no as Magnus nodded and went back to the wound. As Magnus pulled the glass from Cade's body, Cade growled.
Ella groaned in pain once Cade's claws pressed on her palm. She let go of his hands and fell back but luckily Alec caught her.
Her palms were covered in blood and she winced when the pain spread. She looked over at Cade to see fangs and claws and red glowing eyes. "You killed an Alpha, didn't you?" Magnus asked Cade as he put the glass on the tray. Cade nodded and looked over at Ella with guilt.
"Ella, I am sorry." He apologized as tears formed in his eyes but he wouldn't let them fall. "It's okay." She had a huge grin on her face as she walked over to him and he stood up. They both embraced each other in a hug that read happiness.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
