*Week later*
I wake up and immediately fill up with happiness at the realisation where I am. This feeling will never get old. He shuffles beneath me and wakes up with a smile.
"Morning beautiful" he says kissing my head.
"Morning" I say and peck his lips.
"How are you feeling today?" he asks me.
"Good" I smile.
"What shall we do today?" I say.
"Its up to you, wherever you go, I go" Neteyam says.
"Sop" I say and nudge him laughing.
We get up and get ready before heading out the hut together. We have a morning walk along the beach and see Tsireya and Kiri sitting on the sand ahead. They spot us and call us over.
"Hey, y/n mom and dad are looking for you" Tsireya says.
"Oh okay i'll go find them" I say and walk towards the family hut to see if they're there. I get there and I see no one then as I leave I bump into mother.
"Oh y/n i've been looking for you" she says.
"I'm here" I smile.
"Me and your father are going to visit some of the other villages today, can you look after Nuwani for us please?" she asks.
"Sure, i'd love to" I say smiling.
"I knew I could rely on you my girl" she says and hugs me.
"i'll be on the beach so whenever you go just let me know" I say and walk out the hut.
I walk back to the sandy beach and everyone is here now. I sit down next to Lo'ak and they're all chatting and laughing about different things.
"Wanna do something today?" Lo'ak asks me.
"i'd love to but i'm looking after Nuwani while my mom and dad are away for the day" I say.
"I could help?" he says.
"Sure, sounds fun" I smile.
We continue to sit and chat for a while then mother and father approach us with Nuwani.
"Thank you for this my daughter" father says.
I smile and nod and take Nuwani. We all say bye and they leave for the day. I look down at Nuwani and he smiles at me and giggles. I smile back and swipe my finger along his soft cheek. I grab his stuff and start walking from the others and say bye. Lo'ak follows me and grabs the stuff from my arms helping me. We get to my hut and I place Nuwani on the floor while I sort out his stuff and Lo'ak watches him for a second.
I turn after a few minutes and see Lo'ak messing with my stuff.
"Bro what you doing?" I say.
"Its interesting" he says laughing.
"Where's Nuwani?" I ask.
"He's over.... there" he says and trails off while pointing to the empty rug.
We look round the hut and can't find him then I see him crawling outside the hut out the corner of my eye and on the walkways between the huts.
"There!" I shout and run to him.
I pick him up and he laughs at me. Lo'ak runs shortly after and exhales when he sees us safe. I walk back into the hut and place Nuwani back down. I sit next to him and Lo'ak sits the other side. We play with him in the hut for a while then he gets bored so we try to think what we can do.
"Beach?" Lo'ak suggests.
"No" I say.
"Riding?" he suggests.
"No" I say.
"Battle training?" Lo'ak jokes.
"No" I say laughing.
"Ive got an idea" I say and stand up and grab a few things. Once i've got the stuff I pick up Nuwani and make my way out the hut with Lo'ak walking beside me. He grabs the stuff from me again and I lead them across the beach. We get to the trees and I start walking into them. I keep going until we get to the small waterfall Kiri showed me. I put Nuwani on the floor and then crawls over to the pool at the bottom, he crawls in and splashes in the water happily. Me and Lo'ak sit on the side with our feet in and splash with Nuwani making him giggle.
"I love hanging out with you" I smile.
"Me too bro" Lo'ak smiles back.
"I'm glad you and Neteyam are mates now, it means you're my best friend and sister!" he laughs.
"True" I say smiling.
We stay for a while and talk more and then it starts getting dark so me and Lo'ak pack up the stuff and make our way back. Lo'ak grabs Nuwani and we get back to the hut. He places him down and gives me a hug and says night.
I lay on the rug with Nuwani and tickle his tummy making him belly laugh. His laugh is so infectious Im laughing at him laughing.
*Neteyam POV*
Ive spent all day hanging with Aonung and Rotxo and spend all day missing y/n.
Were chilling on the beach and I see Lo'ak walking to the family hut. He must have come from our hut. I say goodnight to Aonung and Rotxo and make my way back to the hut. I get closer and I can hear laughing from outside. I get to the hut and peek round the entrance to see y/n and Nuwani laughing. So beautiful.
I walk into the hut and y/n smiles at me and I sit next to her.
"Ive missed you" I say and peck her.
"I missed you too" she smiles.
We spend some time playing with Nuwani and then he crawls over to the hut wall and pull himself up to a standing.
"What you doing cheeky!" y/n laughs.
He lets go and stands on his own then takes a step towards us.
"Oh my eywa"
"Neteyam"
"Are you seeing this?!" y/n says.
He takes more steps towards us then falls down and crawls the rest of the way. Y/n grabs him and cuddles him tight with a wide smile.
"What a big boy!" she coos at him and he smiles.
After a little while longer Tonowari and Ronal return and come to get Nuwani. Once they leave me and y/n lay down and snuggle up together.
*Y/N POV*
We snuggle up and I look up at Neteyam "Today was great"
"It was" he says and kisses my head.
"I missed you this morning though" I say.
"We can make up for that" he says and tilts my chin up to align our lips and kisses me.

We chat and star gaze for a while before falling into a peaceful sleep.
