Time went by fast and soon the competition was starting. They didn't rehearse the routine they had planned to show earlier since they agreed to focus on synchronizing their steps, jumps and spins. When the time drew closer Aizawa ushered everyone out so (y/n) and Yuri could have their rest and prepare. Of course they did one last practice at their routine. If (y/n) didn't feel the pressure earlier she was definitely feeling it now. Her nervousness made her miss a couple of steps and Yuri took note of this.

-----YOUR POV-----
I was at the back wearing my costumes underneath a high-necked jacket. Yes. You heard right. Costumes. I didn't just had one. I had two. After the second part of the story Yuri and i would do a quick change out of our costumes. I gotta say. I feel ridiculous wearing the short ass outfit with the aesthetic wings tied to my arms and back.
They looked good at first but i felt like a joke wearing them and using them on the ice.
"Trust me. It'll look good." Yuri said.
"It better." Or else i would be living a life of embarrassment.
"We already tried it on the ice you may feel ridiculous but trust me you'll look like an angel with the lights." He said.
I sighed accepting my fate. How did the first part of the story go again? I looked at the ground trying to remind myself the steps. Recalling and replaying in my mind.
I was wearing feathery dress with feathery skates. Everything about my dress was Feathers, white and a hint of gold. It also had skin tone see through cloth that went to my neck and down to my wrists. On it was embroidered jewelry that was made to look like i was wearing a diamond necklace and diamond bracelets. The make up that was placed on me was light. My hair was fixed so it wouldn't disturb my vision and the costume would be showcased but then again i kinda mussed it. Seeing the amount of people watching startled me. NO! What else are you wearing? uh.. stockings that had small, simple embroidery. To think of it im actually all covered up but not at the same time? Anyways, I also had a white beaded mask with gold lining and feathers off to the side that hugged my hair.
The princess.
"Our story is about the love two very different people have. She is a princess. High, royal, soft and pure."
"That's you."
As Yuri said..
I looked over to Yuri who had a totally different look compared to mine.
Mat black jacket decorated with diamond like studs along with his fingerless gloves. He too had a mask that compliment his look. A black half faced mask littered with studs on one half while the other half had only few. His hair was pulled to the back including his bangs, pulled neatly in a pony tail while the lower part of his hair hung loosely. Featuring the mask he had on. His make up wasn't anything special. It just made him look pale while his eyes stood out with the eyeshadow and his mask.
"He or in this case, I am the Punk. Rough, cold and dangerous. The scum of the world."
Right.. i sighed trying to calm my nerves.
I felt hands grip on to my arms and shook my lightly.
"You'll do well." Yuri smiled. "Trust me." He rubbed my upper arm trying to sooth me.
"Im trying. There's just too many people out there." I said looking down. The 'what if' questions raising through my mind. Like, what if my masks falls? Or what if someone recognizes me? What if i slip up and fall? I sighed in an another attempt to calm myself.
"Listen to me." He shook me again lightly. "When we're out on the ice, all eyes on me, okay? Just think of this as our usual practice. Clear everything in your mind and just listen to the music and just focus on me." I nodded.
"Next is the fan favorite. Yuri Plisetski and His partner, (insert fake name. I was supposed to name you Tsuneki Uchiha. lol. Namikaze would be good too but she doesn't know that.)
Yuri offered his hand and i obliged. He skated with me to the center of the ice rink.
"Yuri is known in the solo division. With him participating in the Pairs division. People went nuts. Especially Yuri's fanbase." One commentator said. "I agree. Even i was surprised! And his partner. What a mystery." Another one said. "Well, lets see what it is they have in store for us."
"Their theme: Unconditional Devotion. Titled, The Princess and the Punk." The first one said.
"Once again. Let us all welcome, Yuri Plisetski and (Random name). The crowed roared again cheering for Yuri.
I tightened my grip on Yuri's hand. He rubbed his thumb on the back part ad tightened as well, letting me know he was there. He let go on my hand and went into position.
(The video here and the one up top is the same but in different POV's i just had to add this in cuz it looked amazing. just imagine the parts where there was three guys lifting her up, change that part to maybe Yuri and you twirling, or him lifting you up or him tossing you into the air while you spun. forgive me here :'> )
.
----- YOUR POV -----
The lights dimmed as (y/n) knelt to the ground wrapping her 'wings' around her, her head lowered facing the ice. When the music started the lights slowly got brighter, she slowly lifted her head with a hurtful expression. Her wings rose up jerking when the music changed for a split second. Slowly she stood up and spun once before started picking up the pace with her hands outstretched she looked like she was gliding through the air. She moved closer to the side letting the people gawk at her outfit. Following through the voice singing the song she slowed her movement when it seemed to prolong making the audience more attracted to her. Then a hard beat came in along with fires shooting from the sides as Yuri came in making his presence known.
She looked at Yuri who seemed to be taking his part very well.
'Okay. im getting nervous. What was the story about?' She thought to herself so she could at least remember her steps. The last thing she wanted was stop mid performance all because she forgot her part.
She looked at Yuri as he skated passed him then they both stopped and looked at one another before they united with an embrace. He hugged her as they spun. Once the two broke free she skated away only to be pulled back by the Punk himself. The two started dancing, twirling with Yuri leading.
(y/n) slowly removed the ties around her arms that supported the wings, it fell off one after the other. She was then left with her bare dress with out the wings then the lights dimmed and it grew quiet. Yuri stepped back into the ice and the light slowly brightened the rink. The two locked eyes and slowly skated towards each other. When their hands touched the music started then the two resumed dancing.
(Heres the title if you cant watch it. "Maia & Alex Shibutani's Ice dance to 'Paradise' by Coldplay at PyeongChang 2018 | Music Monday" because wattpad :'> )
'Okay. Part two. One last then we'll be done with it.' She thought to herself.
"They dance and whisper sweet nothings to one another, enjoying each other's company feeling that the other had finally filled the hole, the missing piece they had in their hearts."
She recalled.
She looked up at Yuri trying to block the commentators that were faintly heard in the background. He smiled and nodded lightly. She smiled back. He held her hand and placed his other hand on her waist as they glided through the ice with Yuri standing strong beside her. Guiding her as they swayed side to side. Bright and warm smiles could be seen from the two. No matter where she'd go he was there to hold her hand. They danced blissfully on the ice without a care in the world. Light and flowy movements made the audience picture them, the two characters to have enjoyed their time together in pleasurer and happiness. As the title of the song said. "Paradise".
(I am speed)
The song died down and the piano overtook the music as it echoed through the stadium. The once upbeat song was now replaced with something mellow, heartfelt yet sad. The expressions on the two performers changed as well. They looked at one another with a hurtful and saddened expression meanwhile Yuri had a more longing look rather than (y/n)'s that looked more like she was about to burst into tears.
"But as all things are. Time moved too fast and their homes grew suspicious of their whereabouts. So, They had to leave yet again, not knowing when they'll see each other again."
The audience's brows furrowed some even had placed their hands above their mouths as they watched the two. Feeling the passion and sadness through the story portrayed in front of them. Maybe it was the lyrics? It was almost like they were cherishing what little time they had left. That made the impact on the people.
"Just before the Princess takes her leave the Punk offered her something she couldn't deny."
The music suddenly changed going back to its original upbeat tempo with the two followed suit, spinning and doing a series of more upbeat steps following the music's beat. This part was where synchronization was key. The the moves separately yet synchronized at everyway. Their ecstatic expressions and upbeat dancing, twirls, spins and lifts really brought in the joy of the song.
When the music for the second part ended the two broke free from each other and spun in place. Yuri took off his jacket while (y/n) took off her feathers on her skirt and mask.
(Sorry if it sounds weird.)
It was a more simplistic look compared to their previous forms. They also kept the masks on. Although it contradicted to their outfits it served as a reminder on who they were which brought more meaning into their theme.
(Sorry for the videos and a lot of photos... I'll make this quick 😖😓)
(You can search "Figure skating to the Yuri on ice Theme" It should be the first one to pop up.)
The two started off with their harms outstretched, opposite from where they pointed. Reaching to touch the other's shoulder. This time around there was no lyrics the mellow tune that reflected on the skaters in the rink. Everything seemed to portray content and satisfaction with the fulfillment of happiness the two had displayed, rubbing off to the crowed.
"So, at the last part, they as seen happily dancing hand in hand. She no longer wears the crown and he no longer bares the cold heard he used to have. There they match each other's rhythm flowing peacefully like the water in the river bank. The dance is basically them showing how happy and compatible the two are." She recalled.
By this time (y/n) Was beginning to feel sorry for Yuri who had to carry her for the passed minutes but what she focused was getting it done. The faster they could get on with it the faster it'll be done so at least Yuri could rest for a short while.
"Remember. The real story is at the ending." Yuri whispered.
(Imma skip its like 3 am and im tired..)
They two ended with the same position earlier. Their arms outstretched but this time she was looking down at the boy with her other hand on her chest. Yuri who was on one knee, he looked up at (y/n) with a smile his hand intertwined with hers while the other hand offered her a small opened ring box that he's been hiding in his pocket for safe keeping.
The audience roared giving the two a standing ovation as they cheered and clapped for the story's perfect end. Some whistled and the others couldn't contain their feelings. Jumping up and down with tears streaming down their eyes. Yuri closed the box and placed it back in his pocket. They bowed facing the audience hand in hand. Bouquets of flowers mainly roses, were thrown on to the stage. Occasionally cat headbands were thrown too.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Yuri Plisetsky and (Random name). Unconditional Devotion, The princess and the Punk." The commentators gave their farewell to the two as they exited the rink.
(We already know yall won because i love yall 🥺💖💟)
While waiting for the results for tonight's competition, Yuri and (y/n) sat at the kiss and cry with cameras pointed at them surrounded by the bouquets, stuffed animals and cat ears that were tossed by fans. Panting and sweating underneath the masks people wanted to see what the princess actually looked like but she was careful not to show them when she wiped the sweat from under her mask. Yuri handed her her water bottle quenching their thirst. Their cats climbed on to their laps as if welcoming them back. (Y/n) Smiled and scratched Gray's chin..
With nothing to do but wait, the two shared short conversations.
"Do you think we won." She asked
"Of course we did." He said. "We did better that that shit head for sure." He mumbled glaring to the side. She chuckled, he always did had a curse word to use for the other Yuri.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! We have have out champions for tonight's figure skating competition!" golden confetti dropped on both Yuri and (y/n) making them look up in wonderment. "Yuri Plisetski and (Random name)!!"
The crowed roared again crying out their names. Whistles and cheers. They didn't rise up from their seat because of the two cats that sat on their laps, instead they hugged each other while Yuri raised his one hand in the air. The two smiled at their achievement.
After the awarding ceremony interviewers bombarded the two with questions. Most of which were about and of not directed to the girl beside the young figure skater but they had already planned this out. (y/n) Scooted closer to Yuri and leaned towards his back trying to hide herself. Her head faced away from the glaring lenses of the cameras while Yuri leaned forward covering her. He didn't say anything instead he pulled (y/n) by her hand and lead her backstage and into their dress room.
