Jungkook grimaced but shrugged. "What happened?"

Hoseok grinned and grabbed a stool, "Okay, so, the whole night went really really well..." Hoseok quirked his head, "At least in my eyes... Anyways, we started off dancing a little, and normally it would have been awkward but it wasn't..." Hoseok bit his lip. "Except..." Hobi trailed off again and Jungkook squinted at him. "What?"

Hoseok laughed. "Maybe... I made it a little awkward at the end. I was kind of holding his hips and we were dancing really close and I got scared... So, I just asked if he wanted to get drinks but he seemed fine?" Hoseok was getting worried now.

Jungkook listened and quirked his head, imitating Hobi. "I mean, it's very possible you scared him and he was just good at hiding it..."

Hobi nodded, biting his lip more. "I also... kind of grabbed him... and like tackled him... But he seemed fine and just-" Hoseok trailed off smiling until Jungkook cleared his throat in annoyance. "What?"

Hobi blushed and cooed a little. "He... tickled me."

Jungkook had to forcefully stop his eyes from rolling back in his head. This idiot. Why was everyone so happily in love while he was sitting there broken over two men who couldn't even stay under the same roof? And yes, yes he noticed that Taehyung never came the fuck home. Thanks, Jimin. So much for "everything's gonna be okay."

Hobi giggled, bringing him back to the current moment. "See? How could he want to cancel after that?!" Hobi was pouting now and it caused Jungkook to sigh. "I think you might just have to test the waters. If what seemed like a good night to you made him cancel, try making a clear move and... see if he changes his mind...?"

Hobi frowned, quirking one eyebrow. "What do I do if he still doesn't want to date me?"

Jungkook shrugged, getting annoyed at Hobi's semantics. "Maybe... I don't know ask him out yourself?"

Hobi glanced around nervously, pouting again. "Or?"

He scowled and rolled his eyes at Hobi. "Or, maybe try punching him in the face, see if that changes anything."

Hoseok's eyes widened in a cute, 'o' way and Jungkook immediately glared at him. "Do not do that!"

Hobi laughed and swatted Jungkook's shoulder. "Don't worry I'm just kidding." He laughed again, "Unless he gets too annoying."

Jungkook smirked. "Deal."

Hobi got lost in thought for a minute but then he remembered how this whole conversation started. "Oh, Kookie, you wanted to ask me something?"

Jungkook's eyes widened. "R-right... Uh, how's the studio hunt going?"

Hoseok frowned. Weird question, but okay. "Um, my other one was already snatched and I have no hope and no time to find one. Why?"

Jungkook bit his lip and fumbled with his hands. That definitely made his request harder. "Could you keep me updated? I was kind of wondering i-"

The bell on the door rang, interrupting him as he was finally getting to the point.

Too bad it was just about the most distracting thing to Hobi that walked inside.

"You ready to go Hobi?"

Hoseok beamed and nodded. "Hey Yoongi, yeah..." He bit his lip and glanced at Jungkook, then back to Yoongi who was waiting impatiently by the door.

Jungkook sighed quietly and nodded his head. "It's fine, we can talk later."

Hoseok winked and ruffled Jungkook's hair. "Thanks Kookie, I love ya!"

And with that, Hobi was out the door, followed by Yoongi mumbling something about how you shouldn't touch people's hair.

Jungkook watched quietly as Hobi then proceeded to viciously mess up Yoongi's hair and the two disappeared down the street. It broke his heart just a little. He did notice with a bitter sweet smile that Hobi only seemed more determined now that Yoongi had canceled their date. At least he didn't let the loss get to him.

Jungkook wished he could do that. Tap into his Hobi side and get over himself for one minute to actually do something real for once.

He moaned and slid into the counter and into his own welcoming arms. He never seemed to get any peace though. Not long before he could feel himself drifting off to sleep the door opened again. Whoever came in was very quiet. Jungkook could hear them quietly close the door, then move to the coat rack and leave their coat.

He held his breath as he thought who it might be.

It definitely didn't help when they walked up behind him and stroked his back caringly. Jungkook stiffened at the touch and sat up, slowly.

"I'm sorry I left Kookie..."

Jungkook stared into the dark brown eyes. They were firm, and stoic and he could barely extract the misty sorrow hidden deep inside. Taehyung stood solemnly in front of him and Jungkook had to bite his tongue to calm his frustration.

"You left."

Taehyung didn't move a single muscle. "Yes."

Jungkook sighed and looked away. He felt like crying. He felt torn and mad and... broken.

"I have to go, Tae."

Shakily, Jungkook got to his feet and walked to the door. He couldn't bear to look back but god was he praying that Tae would be there, that he would stop him, or call his name, or do something to make him stay.

But he didn't. And Jungkook let the door fall closed behind him without a single obstacle, the cold hitting him like the embrace of the water as you sink... down, down... until nothing feels real anymore and you've lost track of the sky.
