[flashback]
--That morning--
Taehyung stands at the corner in the snow holding a letter he's written for Jungkook and Jimin. That morning he'd decided to call the latter. Not only did he miss his best friend, but he'd been starting to feel like a total asshole for not letting Jimin know about Jungkook's conversation with his parents.
Jimin had been very understanding (Jimin was always understanding), but had also informed Taehyung that he would be staying with his moms over Christmas after all. Apparently... he had some stuff to figure out.
Taehyung understood, (Taehyung always understood). If he had a family to visit on Christmas, he'd want to stay with them too. But he doesn't, so a small part of him feels bitter towards Jimin's choice. But it's okay, he rationalizes because if he had a family, where would that leave Jungkook?
So, he's here. With his letter. Thinking... Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that Jimin's gone. If he was here, he'd definitely kill me for this. And slips it into the mailbox.
