Chapter 16-The Chamber of Secrets

Juicy Chapter this one. Exciting things coming. I think you know what is happening in this one.

When I arrived in the toilets it seems Moaning Myrtle was in the middle of explaining something, I think it was on how Myrtle died, she was killed by the monster that is going round the school at the moment, she pointed towards the sink in the middle of the toilets, bingo that must be the way in, again how would we get the sink open. Ron with his wand pointed at Lockhart, and Harry walking towards the sink and studying it he comes across a snake on one of the taps. "guys this is it, this must be the entrance to the chamber" Harry said to us, "Try saying something in Parseltongue Harry" I said back to him, he started mumbling inaudible things towards the sink, then a loud clank and rumbling sound was heard, this was it, I was going to get my best friend back and we are going to save the school and Ginny. We took a few steps back as we watch the sink disconnect and reveal the entrance. this school keeps getting weirder and scarier. All that was left once it was all disconnected is a huge hole that I'm guessing we have to fall down. Lockhart sighed "excellent Harry, ha good work well then I'll just be and there's no need for me to stay" he tried running past us but we stopped him and pushed him back towards the hole,he stumbled, we moved our wands to him telling him to go first, he tried to talk his way out of it but Ron pushed him, there was loads of screaming and a sudden thud, it was now our turn, before we jumped we was stopped by Moaning Mrytle saying "oh Harry if you die down there you're welcome to share my toilet" then did her creepy laugh. He simply said thanks and we jumped down the hole to join Professor Lockhart.Turns out it was a massive slide the whole way to the bottom, which I rather enjoyed, can't say the same for Harry and Ron,once at the bottom we fell into a pit that was filled with loads of tiny animal bones, ewww. " now. Remember,any sign of movement close your eyes straight away." Harry warned us. I was not looking forward to this one bit but it's clear that it's down to us and Lockhart to stop this monster and get Ginny back. We walked down a tunnel that lead us to an area that had a snake skin shed on the floor, was this the size of the monster. Suddenly the great DADA Professor fainted at the sight of the skin, what a sorry excuse for a teacher he was. He fainted right next to Ron so Harry and I was walking back to him to make sure he was ok when he grabbed Rons wand and pointed it at us, "the adventure ends here boys and girls,but don't fret, the world will know our story and how I was too late to save the girl,how you three tragically lost your minds at the sight of her mangled body." He gave this heroic speech which made me role my eyes, he pointed Rons wand at Harry before casting OBLIVIATE but of course he was using Rons broken wands and the spell backfired sending him flying into the ceiling which soon came crumbling down seperating Harry and I from Ron, we stand up to hear HARRY AND LINDSEY being shouted, we ran up to the fallen wall to make sure Ron was alright, Ron went quite for a few seconds before shouting towards us "Lockhart's memory charm backfired,He hasn't got a clue who he is" We managed to find a small hole just in time to see Ron knocking Lockhart out with a rock to shut him up. Ron looked up at us regretting his decision "what do I do now?" he asked us, "you wait here and try and shift some of these rocks so we can get back through,We'll go on and find Ginny" Harry said to Ron, we climbed down the rocks and I looked at Harry and said "I guess it's just the two of us, we've got this." I grabbed his hand breifly to let him know that I'm behind him always. We grabbed our wands out our pockets and held them out incase we needed them, we soon came across as sealed door with loads of snakes on it, without wasting time Harry speaks in Parsletongue causing the door to unlock in a cool looking way. Still with our wands at the ready we walked in the now revealed hole, at the other side was a small ladder that lead to a long walkway that had water either side and loads of snake heads with thier tongues out,the path way was wet letting us know that we was in the right place as something has passed through here recently and going by the size of the snake skin I'm guessing it the monster we are here to find. Me and Harry slowly walked down the pathway hoping to find Ginny and get out but I can't see that happening going by our pot luck. As we was walking down further Harry all the sudden came to a stop and soon after began running, I followed his eye line and spotted Ginny lying on the floor still and wet, I ran towards her too, Standing over her I couldn't help but get tears in my eyes, I hope we can save her. Harry was shaking her wishing that she would wake up, I was so involved on Ginny that I hadn't noticed another presense until Harry said "You've got to help me Tom, there's a basilisk" To which I became quite confused by, who is Tom, there wasn't anyone else down here with us until I looked up and noticed a boy in a Hogwarts Slytherin Uniform holding Harrys wand, He replied to Harry saying that the monster won't come until it's called. Harry was now stood up and noticed his wand in Tom's hand, he put his hand out and asked for Tom to give him his wand back to which Tom simply replied with you won't be needing it, he then turned to me placing his hand out as if to ask for my wand too, I had to hand it over as it was still in my hands and couldn't hide it. Harry didn't seem to be too worried about his wand more about getting out and saving Ginny but Tom soon became shifty and said "I'm afraid I can't do that Harry, you see as poor Ginny grows weaker I grow Stronger" without either of us saying anything Tom continued "yes Harry and Lindsey it was Ginny Weasley who opened the Chamber of Secrets" Why would Ginny do such a thing, why would she set the Basilisk on those poor students and Mrs Norris. All while I was trying to convince myself that it couldn't of been Ginny, Tom confirmed that it was all Ginny and all because he had told her to,also confirming that she didn't know what she was doing as she was in some sort of trance,when Ginny tried to dispose of the diary and Harry found it Tom admitted that he was anxious to meet him, I wonder why though, Harry took a few steps closer and asked him "why did you want to meet me?" Tom replied "I knew I had to talk to you, meet you if I could, so I decided to show you my capture of the brainless oaf Hagrid to gain your trust" I slowly drowned that back and forth conversation out as I was trying to bring Ginny around in hopes to save her.I was soon brought out of my daze when I heard Tom admit that killing mudblood wasn't his goal anymore but to kill Harry was, I quickly jumped up and stood behind Harry ready to help when I was given the word, Tom noticed this but continued anway "How is it that a baby with no extraordinary magical talent was able to defeat the greatest wizard of all time, how did you escape with nothing but a scar while Lord Voldemort's powers were destroyed."Harry was quick with a response "why do you care how I escaped,Voldemort was after your time?" "Voldermort is my past present and future" Tom said while turning around and writing TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE in red with Harrys wand, to only have it jumble up to reveal the words "I AM LORD VOLDEMORT" I took a massive breathe in, if i wasn't scared before I certainly am now. Harry and Tom again had a back and forth argument while I was trying not to pass out or run away when all the sudden a squark from a bird could be heard and when we turned around it revealed Fawkes Dumbledore's Pheonix flying towards us, I dropped ssomething in Harry's Hand before flying away, it was the sorting hat, how was this going save us, thanks Dumbledore I thought to myself. Harry opened up the sorting hat, Tom walks away and towards the weird head thing speaking Parsletongue towards it, the mouth slowly opens to reveal the basilisk, Harry and I quickly turn and run the opposite way towards the exit in hopes to escape this beast, in doing this Harry ditches the hat, and we have to leave Ginny lying there, we try and run as fast as we can but its fast. Harry trips over and looses his glasses, I can only stand and watch from a distance, praying nothing happens to Harry, just as the Basilisk was about to attack Fawkes sqaurks and heads straight for the eyes of the monster blinding it. "your bird may of blinded it but it can still hear you" Tom shouted.We needed to get away and quitely but with there being water all over the floor it would be difficult to do so, all that was left to do was run as fast as we could and find a place to hide where the basilisk won't hear us, We head towards an opening in the walls with the creature not far behind. We found ourselves at a dead end and when we go to turn around he is there hoping to hear us mive, we stand as still has we can, I grab ahold of Harry's hand in hope to comfort him and to keep myself calm. The creature put his head in the gap we are in getting closer and closer causing Harry and I to slowly slide down the floor, mouth open and teeth showing it was now in our faces, I close my eyes praying this won't be it. Harry picks up a rock and throws it behind the creature in hope to detear it away from us and it works he slithers off in another direction. We run back towards Ginny, she better still be alive, we reach her and Tom says "Yes Potter, the process is nearly done, soon Ginny will be dead and I'll cease to be a memory, Lord Voldemort will return very much alive" I shake Ginny in hopes it will wake her, as i'm about to touch her the sound of water being broken scares me as I turn around there behold is the Basilisk. I'm watching the beast squel and thrash around so I didn't notice Harry run towards the Hat and grab something out of it, it's only when he runs towars the mans face holding it up that i'm aware of whats happening. Harry swings the sword round in aim to hit the beast but it isn't successful until just as the sword is about to fall off to the floor and the basilisk is about win Harry grabs the sword jamming it straight into his head creating a huge squel in pain. Harry yanks the sword out as the basilisk pulls away only to reveal a tooth penetrated into his arm, I don't think thats good, I rememeber reading once that the basilisk produce vemon which can kill if not treated.
