flashback (first year)
a/n: this is inspired by a tumblr post i saw a while ago
Sirius walked into their shared dorm, he had forgotten his wand.He opened the door to Remus coming out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist. Sirius stared. Remus had several scars and bruises all over him. Remus blushed, pulling on his shirt. Sirius pretended he didn't see anything. "I forgot my wand.", he said. Remus nodded. "Where were you yesterday?", Sirius asked. "I was-- Family issues.", Remus said, avoiding eye contact. "Oh. Okay.", Sirius said, leaving the dorm, closing the door. Remus sat down on the bed and sighed. He had to be more careful.
Sirius sat down, his heart thudding. Was Remus going through the same situation he was? He couldn't imagine anyone harming Remus. He went to the library, flipping through books. The more Sirius read, his heart sank. Remus wasn't the one in an abusive home. He was.
