Parker’s Pov.
I sat in the kitchen trying to figure out grocery lists. Ian and Fiona were at work, so I was home alone with Liam. I heard the front door slam, that’s weird. Me and Carl are the only ones who do that so purposefully. It’s probably Debs she’s been in a bad mood lately.

“Debs did you get my text about picking up hamburger buns?” I called out.

“Nah, it’s me” wait what?

I dropped my cup, thank god it was plastic, as I stepped into the doorway of the kitchen.

“Carl? Holy shit! Hi” I smiled, running up to him and pulling him into a bone crushing hug “When did you get out?”

“This morning” he told me.

“Why didn’t you call?” I asked. Wait “Holy fuck, your hair”

I noticed the cornrows. Shit, Carl has changed.

“Nice huh?” he smiled.

“Uh… it’s different” I smiled “I thought you had another couple months”

“Got out on good behavior” he smirked.

“Well that’s a first” I smirked back.

“Yo, what’s up ma nigga?” Carl smiled down at Liam who walked in.

“Cracker” Liam announced, as if Carl had never left.

Both of us laughed at that.

“Wow your voice. It dropped like, two octaves” I realized.

“Yeah my testicals dropped too” he smirked.

“Pleasant” I cringed “How’d you get home?”

“G-Dog picked me up from Kewanee this morning, drove me back up” he explained.

I nodded, not really sure what to say. I just wanted to hug him and never let go.

“Are ya hungry?” I asked “Ya must be”

“Nah we hit Popeyes on the way back” Carl told me “Could I have a friend sleep over?”

“Is it G-Dog?” I asked nervously.

“Nah, just a kid I met” he assured me.

“A kid, sure” I nodded “Yeah I’m sure that’d be fine. Hey maybe… we could have a welcome home party” i smiled “That sound good?”

“Yeah” Carl nodded.

“It’s really great to have you home” I smiled.

“Yeah, it’s good to be home” he nodded.

“Okay” I sighed “Well I am on my way to see Mickey, Ian’s picking me up in a few minutes. But I’ll see you later okay”

“Yeah” He nodded, pulling me into one last hug.

God I love this little psycho. Now off to visit my other psycho... Oh boy.
