Chapter 53: Plans

Meghan's POV

"I'm hungry," bulong ko kay Adrien. It's already 7 P.M. and all I can think about is eating a whole box of chicken wings for dinner.

"Where do you wanna eat?" malambing na tanong niya sa akin as we continued walking towards the restaurants.

"This amusement park is all shit. Kanina pa ako tumitingin-tingin sa mga restaurants dito at walang chicken wings," naiinis na sabi ko at natawa si Adrien, making me smile too. We continued walking down the road, our hands intertwined. "Do you wanna get out of here?"

"Are you sure? We haven't tried every ride yet, sabi mo sasakyan natin lahat."

"Maybe some other time," mahinang sabi ko, creating a silence between us, because we both know there might not be a 'some other time'. "Let's go, maghanap tayo ng kakainan sa labas!"

"Alright," he whispered and pulled my hand up towards his lips, and planted a soft kiss. I like the way everything feels right now. So peaceful, so simple and quiet. It's so much like Adrien.

We quietly walked towards the exit and I couldn't help but smile when I saw the 'see you again' sign by the exit. Ang dami kong naiisip. What would happen after this? We won't be running away and avoiding reality for the rest of our lives. And I can't keep dragging Adrien into these stupid decisions of mine.

"What do you wanna eat?" Adrien asked me, still sounding so gentle. Malapit na kami ngayon sa parking lot and I can almost see his car.

"Chicken wings," maikling sagot ko and he nodded. "Don't worry, it'll be my treat."

"Really? You don't have to naman, I can-"

"I want to, Adrien. You have paid for our tickets sa park. You have paid for everything down to my cotton candy and strawberry smoothie, and all the bubble gums I chewed throughout the day. Gusto kong bumawi," I said as I look at him seriously. He let out a sigh and faced me.

"Alright," sagot niya at ngumiti na lang sa'kin. Nandito na kami ngayon sa harap ng kotse niya. He started the engine and I felt nostalgic as I watch him get inside of his car. This car is where we first met, and where we stayed most of the time in this whole 'running away' shit.

I'm gonna miss this car.

"Hey, why aren't you getting in the car?" Adrien asked, getting my attention. "Are you okay?"

I cleared my throat and gave him a fake smile. I don't wanna be dramatic right now. I want our last days together to be happy, and memorable.

"Yeah, I was just checking the moon out," pagpapalusot ko at tumango nalang siya. I took a deep breath and got inside his car. "I'll start looking for restaurants near us," sabi ko at inilabas 'yong phone ko. I avoided looking at him because it's breaking my heart. I felt him staring at me as I put my seatbelt on.

I still can't stop thinking about the two of us and what will happen next. What happens next after we get our dinner for tonight? What happens tomorrow? And the day after? When am I gonna lose him? When will I have to leave him?

"Are you really okay?" biglang tanong ni Adrien, which drifted me back to reality. He turned the air conditioner up and checked mine kung gumagana. "You seem... distracted. What's on your mind?"

I turned to face him, and something about how the moonlight gently touches his face and how perfect he looks tonight made me realize something.

I'm in love with him too.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I lied at tumingin na ulit sa phone ko. "I found a restaurant! It's just less than 1.6 kilometers from here."

"Alright, just give me directions," he muttered and moved closer to give me a kiss on the cheek, sending me butterflies from my neck and down into my stomach, making me feel them all throughout my body.
