Can and Sanem finally sat down with her parents and his Baba, and told them they were in love and wanted to get married. The parents agreed and a ceremony was set for six weeks from today. The whole family was very excited. Can had a surprise set-up for Sanem for the upcoming weekend, and he was very excited.
Saturday night came and Can picked Sanem up at her home. After speaking with her parents, Leyla, and Osman, he and Sanem left. They traveled for a few miles, with Sanem bugging him the whole way to tell her the surprise. Can pulled over on the side of the road, and he took Sanem's bandana out of his pocket. He said, "I am going to blindfold you now, just for a few minutes. Are you okay with me doing that?"
Sanem was so excited she was almost bouncing in her seat, and made it hard for Can to tie the bandana. He finally finished, and she assured him she could not see anything. They drove over a dirt road to Can's hut. He had never brought anyone to his private retreat before and could not wait for Sanem to see what he had done.

After they parked and he helped her walk over the uneven ground, he removed the blindfold. Sanem was speechless to see white fairy lights draped over the trees and bushes. She saw the cutest little hut with lots of windows right in the middle of the woods. It was like a fairytale, with stars everywhere. She turned in a circle looking at everything, then looked at Can, who was on his knee in front of her. She gasps, covers her mouth, and started crying. It was all so beautiful and perfect.
Can said smiling, "I love you so much, Sanem. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Would you please marry me?" Sanem replied excitedly, "Evet,Evet. Yes. Yes. I love you so much, yes."

Can laughed as he put a beautiful moonstone ring with small rose quartz and diamonds stones around the band on her finger. It exactly matched her rose quartz that she wore daily under her clothing. They decided they would buy matching gold bands to wear for their engagement ribbon cutting ceremony and marriage.
