Whirl: *walking with Wedge* thanks for helping me carry these parts!
Wedge: *sets them down in the lab* no problem. Glad I could help.
Whirl: *smiling* I'm glad you could too! *hugs him tightly*
Wedge: *is super confused but awkwardly hugs back*
*that afternoon*
Wedge: *shrieks as he gets scooped up by Blades into a death hug* MOM!
Blades: *keeps hugging him* I couldn't help it!! You looked like you needed a hug!!!
Wedge: *groans*
*that evening*
Medix: *purposefully slams into Wedge during a ice sim mission and "hugs" him to keep himself upright*
Wedge: *jokingly* if you keep sliding down any farther, you'll eventually reach "no man's land"
Medix: *shrieks as he lets go of him, landing on his aft and sliding slightly*
Hotshot: *experience has taught him to skate over instead of run over to help his mechfriend*

Wedge, as soon as he opens his berthroom door:

Hotshot: *helping Wedge up as everyone gets off of him* we were dared to hug you for 3 days straight.
Wedge: tacklehugs are very different from hugs.
Whirl: but they have more meaning! We all love you Wedge! A normal hug wouldn't show that!
Wedge: actually- wait did you just say you all love me?‐ DO NOT TACKLEHUG ME!!
Everyone: *ends up group hugging him instead, trying not to squeeze him to death* yes!!
Medix: and we mean it.
Wedge: *slowly starts smiling widely as he hugs back, tears slowly falling* goshdarnit guys... I love all of you too. But please, don't tacklehug me every two minutes from now on.
Everyone: *giggling* deal!
Heatwave: *aight he loves everyone but he's had enough* alright Recruits. Let's get back to training.
Recruits: *as Hoist and Hotshot hold up Wedge on their shoulders* yes sir!
