Chapter 10: Kurando

Start from the beginning

“Yep, I was out looking for you. The Headmaster thought you might be lost. Don’t worry, I’m new here to and I got lost as well, funny story.” I said with a greeting smile. He smiled back and walked into the moonlight. I finally saw his face: Young and he had a great smile, a nicely shaped face with bright brown eyes which appeared somewhat red. His light brown hair was folded to one side of his face and I suited him finely. He was stunning! Gorgeous! One of the best looking guys I’ve even seen in my life! I wanted to know his name so badly!

“I’d love to hear it. Why don’t you tell me while we walk?” He seemed nice and easy to talk to. Just, I wasn’t about to tell him about that night. And I wasn’t about to ask him whether he was a Vampire or not.

“Nah, never mind about me. Let me hear about you? Oh, by the way, my names Yuna, Yuna Yamazaki.” I mentioned happily. He grinned once he heard my name.

“Beautiful name… it suits you and your beauty.” He said charmingly. I was startled and I couldn’t help but start blushing uncontrollably. He laughed as I hid my face to the side opposite him. “My names Kurando, Kurando Inugami.” He said. I smiled at him.

“Handsome name for such a handsome looking guy.” I said as a joke. He laughed again at what I just said.

“I see what you did there.”

We both couldn’t help but laugh now. It was funny and we began to walk to the Headmasters office.

We started talking about anything. Anything we could think of. He was practicing to learn the ways of a Samurai. He’s even got his own sword and he’s very good when fight people in competitions. I told him I was with the Disciplinary Committee and the only fighting I’ll ever do would be to wack people you misbehave over the head a few times. He loved that.

“I’ve never met a girl like you, Yuna. You’re so cool about everything.” He said with a cheerful smile. I pet his shoulder. He was taller than me too. Not as tall as Shiki but he was tall.

I laughed, “Really? Thank you. I am unique aren’t I?” I said. He nodded.

“Of course. I think I’ve fallen in love with you.” He said as a joke. I kinda took it a little too seriously and stepped back.

   “Huh?” I murmured. He sighed.

“It was a joke.” He grinned and continued to walk forward. I sighed in relief. I did sort of have a little crush on him… somewhat like love at first sight and we seemed to have a lot in common too. Maybe this was the start of something new for me… a new love or something. He seems to take an interest in me—but what about Shiki?

I caught up to Kurando and pointed the building out to him. “Wow,” He muttered, “That’s huge.” I nodded in agreement. I slowly felt something slide through my fingers and rest on my palm. It was a hand—Kurando was holding my hand!

I stared at it and he smiled, “C’mon,” He spoke loudly and ran forward, my hand in his. My cheeks were now flushing up so dramatically I bet he was noticing it.

We ran to the building and in through the door, I gasping for air as we hadn’t stopped running and we were heading for stairs. I had no clue where Yuuki and Zero were.

“Wait!” I gasped and he stopped. I walked onto the first step and started to breathe heavily. “I need to catch my breath.”

“You need to go out more and run.” He suggested. I frowned. Yeah, like I was gonna do that.

“C’mon, enough of the silliness.” I said and walked up the stairs ahead of him. He seemed upset in a way but understood. It wasn’t because I was out of breath I sopped fooling around with him, holding his hand too, but the thought of Shiki. I felt as if I was betraying him in some way.

As I was thinking about Shiki, I completely wasn’t looking to where I was going, I slipped on the next step I tried to walk up on and began to fall backwards. “Crap!” I cried as I fell into someone’s arms. I glanced up at their face. Kurando had caught me. “Oh… Um, thanks, Kurando.” I struggled to say as a shy voice came out. My face was completely red now.

“It’s OK. You way like nothing anyway. You’re beautiful too, even when you’re scared or shy.” I stared at him blankly. This boy has got me… he has completely got me now.

He let go and helped me up onto the step, “Thank you again.” I said trying to hide my face. He frowned.

“Why hide such a beautiful face?” He asked me. I turned away from him.

“So, if I was ugly you wouldn’t have caught me or be calling me this?” I asked him with my back toward him. He sighed.

“All girls are beautiful. You’re just one who’s more beautiful than others, not just by your looks, but your personality also. I can’t understand why the men aren’t stalking you right now.” He said with a half-smile. He walked around me and ahead up the stairs. “Shall we be going now?” He asked. I nodded and was about cry in somewhat joy and happiness. No one has ever said something like that to me… I love this boy, I seriously do.

“Um… Yep!” I replied jollily. He continued up the stairs and I walked faster and caught his side. He smiled and I felt happy. I felt amazing in his presence.

Once we made it to the top, we arrived at the Headmasters office. I knocked on the door and slowly opened it. I came to stand in the doorway right in front of both Zero and Yuuki. They were surprised to see Kurando next to me. I grinned cheekily, “Found him.” I said about to laugh.

“Oh really?! Yippee!” Cried the Headmaster. He came running up to me with a cheerful facial expression and hugged me. “I knew you’d do it! I knew you’d be great in the Disciplinary Committee!” He cried happily.

“OK… You can let go now.” I told him. He jumped back and took Kurando’s hand and shook it.

“And you must be Kurando Inugami? A new student in the day class! Welcome!”
