DECEMBER 24 YEAR 19
I imagined my Christmas to be happy and energetic. Instead, I sat on the chair across Shihye at an awkward dinner. No one was talking, her parents were silently communicating with each other using their eyes. Clearly uncomfortable with the silence. I couldn't stand it either. How can Shihye be so comfortable with silence?
"I don't believe you."
Shihye snapped us all out our thoughts when her voice sliced the thick air called awkwardness.
"Dear, have you seen the papers? All stamped and signed by the ministry itself." Her father told her, but she wasn't having it.
"I want a DNA test." She demanded before leaving the dinner table to her room. Her parents couldn't stop her. That was the push I needed this whole time. (But honestly, who doesn't wanna be related with the one and only Hueingkai ;>)
"I'd like to have a DNA test too. Until proven that we are connected, I will stay as Shihye's.. friend." I thanked them for the food and went back home.
I don't wanna believe Shihye's my sister.
Never.
