- Use more descriptions of other characters' reactions to Octavia
- Be more clear about when Octavia blacks out towards Chloe leaving, at first, I thought Chloe was going to be in a car crash or something horrible (I'm glad this didn't happen!)
- Don't be afraid to slow the story down a bit, adding a lot of junctions and fillers. Maybe a bit more needs to be put into how Dorothea heals (otherwise everyone would see her legs had been chopped off etc) and her insights and emotions
Review:
I love the blurb! 'Friendship and betrayal with a dash of insanity' - it's great! The cover is also perfect for the story, and it's not often I think that. The beginning is literally so perfect, I fell in love. Not mentioning the main character's name is just a violently perfect thing, I'm jealous! It has the desired effect and all I could do was let my eyes drift on and keep reading. This story was so nice to read, there's grammar in all the right places and the sentence flow is really comfortable gentle. The twists and turns are absolutely ruthless and it leaves the reader gasping for air, answers, and a continuation with the tiny chances that something might go better and bring it into a better place. Justice is a weird one in this, but the story's balance of friendship and betrayal is strikingly both artful and perfect. A must-read! I couldn't believe this story had lower than 1k views - it is truly a hidden gem and the writing potential this author has will hopefully be given a chance to develop in both other stories and other genres.
