What is 'Like Hurricanes'?
Accompanied with a genre of Teen-Fiction, 'Like Hurricanes' is a stunning and completed story that follows the life of a boy on his travels through the pressures and troubles of youth, romance and discovering his real self. 'Like Hurricanes' is a fantastic story that develops characters in ways of being in multiple perspectives even though only being told from one point of view.

Rating -
9/10

EBI -
• Some sentence flow hitches, but not too many of these as to make a really negative impact on the reader
• Some missing punctuation (mostly commas where there should be a break in the line but isn't)
• Some sentences that could be joined together aren't, which sometimes makes the more snappy ones simple - but this is arguably not an issue at all and actually adds more to the story

Review -
'Like Hurricanes' stands out from the very beginning. From a beautiful title to a beautiful cover, to beautiful imagery in the blurb. (In both, but a key sentence I loved in bold, below.) The descriptions, even just in the first chapter, are absolutely stunning. They really allow the reader to visualise everything in such vivid and dreamy detail, the beautiful descriptions themselves are a sole purpose to read this story.
The details of the characters and the depth of each point really explores and develop every single feature of the story, but in a way that the reader loves it without even noticing - allowing them to become subconsciously addicted

Recommended?
- Yesssssssssss. Even if you aren't planning to read a story for the plot and characters, this story is even worth reading educationally. Writers reading this story and paying close attention to all the key descriptions might find their own descriptions improving because of knowing what to think about when describing and what kind of imagery works and doesn't work.
- If you're reading this story simply for a good read, an experience and/or a good plot - then you're definitely in the right place

Blurb -
(The commented blurb and the story's current blurb are different, with some really good things in each, so both are included below)

Old Blurb - (I really liked this one!)

"The story of a wild boy with a broken soul."

Black cigarettes, lilac skies and poetry at 3am. This is what Pit's chaotic life consists of. Everyone knows him as the cute goofy idiot who hangs out with the popular crowd, but no one knows what hides beneath that surface.

With his friends dragging him into the abyss of wild youth and a desperate need to fit in, Pit struggles to be who he really is. But after failing the year and meeting a quirky girl with flowers beneath her skin, he realizes he isn't as average as he wants to seem. He realizes he can be a hurricane.

Unfortunately, hurricanes can be devastating and Pit isn't ready for the consequences they can bring.

New Blurb -

"Wild youth and lilac skies, I'm a drunken poet and she's so beautiful tonight."

Sixteen-year-old Pietro "Pit" is the cute goofy idiot who hangs out with the popular crowd. He's the guy that wears grandpa pants and flannels. He's the guy that failed sophomore year. With his reputation, that doesn't seem like a problem. But it is. Because Pit cares about everything and he always cares too much.

Between crumbling friendships and the desire to fit in, Pit loses himself in the adrenaline of wild youth. But Noemi Defelice, his new classmate, might remind him that he isn't as average as he wants to seem. That if he wants, he can be a hurricane.
