I sat on a window seat hoping him to sit right next to me. He got up and then looking here and there, he sat next to me.

I did an internal YAY!!

My stomach fluttered as his well shaped arms touched mine. Never really touched him in my life, except for that punch...

" I don't think she's bad. She just once got between my best friend, Aron and Charlotte while they were dating. They broke up for her... ", I said, half accusing her sister and half supporting her.

Should I not get into politics for I'm being so diplomatic?

He looked at me. After a moment, he asked, " He's your best friend? "

Didn't the whole school know about that?

Well then I guess he didn't.

" Yeah. Since childhood. ", I said when I remembered that time when Aron threw me into a muddy pool of water on the ground because he was angry with me. How we hated each other in kindergarten but somehow ended up being best friends.

That's like fifteen years before.

" I thought you guys were dating or something. ", he finished. My lips couldn't help but part in surprise.

" Date? Him? ", I said and broke into a hysterical laughter. That's something that never really crossed my mind.

He's like a part of me, but dating him is so awkward!

" You are gravely wrong Sam. We aren't dating. We are best friends. ", I said clearly. His lips twirled up in a little smile.

I have no idea why he smiled though.

" The way you both are always on each other. Jumping about and saving each other, I thought- ", he started but I cut him off before he completed.

" I guess that's what friends do. ", I said.

He nodded to agree.

" But we have to complete some talk that we didn't complete back then. ", he said and I froze that instant. He has to bring in that God forbidden topic everytime.

" I'll pay the bus fare. ", I said trying to change the subject desperately. As I was taking out my purse, he said " I'll do that honor. We are technically talking to each other for the first time"

" Okay... ", I hummed.

He quickly put in the fare and took out two tickets. Handing me one, he sat back again.

" So, are you like asking me to be your friend? ", I asked trying to frank. He has been my crush since a long time, and if not my man, at least friendship with him might do the deep.

" Obviously we are friends. Usually I don't spend money on people who aren't my friends. ", he said out loud. I was half surprise by his directness.

Cute.

When suddenly my phone beeped with a message. I quickly opened it and saw a text from Aron.

By my side vision I saw Sam staring the screen.

Are you home yet?

Are you okay?

Should I come to pick you up.

Why aren't you picking up my calls?

Dude, I'm picking you up from tomorrow. What will happen to you without me?

I mentally awed as I read the messages. Someone really has a soft spot about me.

" And you still say that you guys aren't dating? ", Sam said from the side with a dry voice.

" He's always this caring. He's like my big brother. Not an issue! ", I said and decided to text him back when I reach home.

The bus came to a halt when I saw my stop.

Tsk. Time to part with him.

" It is my stop. Bye. ", I said getting up clumsily. He held me as I lost balance for a second.

*No romantic moments here*

Thanking him quickly, I waved at him and got down. The rain has stopped for the time being but the streets were all slimy and slippery.

No way am I reaching home without falling down atleast once.

" I don't get it sometimes... ", Aron screamed across the phone, " He thinks you are dating me. Like me, Aron D'Estaing will date you! He's sick. "

" Oh shut up Mr. Estaing. ", I said a bit formally. I heard his teeth grinding against each other.

" It's D'Estaing, not Estaing. We have been friends for over a decade and you still can't say my title properly. Dumbass. Little freaking dummy. ", he said like a three year old kid who is trying to curse.

I couldn't help but laugh.

" You are of no help. Get lost. ", I said, in a husky voice and quickly disconnected the call. He's so irritating.

But I won't trade him for anything!

As I kept my phone down, I heard a knock on the door but before I could answer it, my mom entered.

Like, why knock when you will enter what so ever...

" You and your friends had a sleepover last night? ", she asked suspiciously. I know where it's going.

I nodded.

" You guys played Truth and Dare, right? ", she asked. Even she dreads that game.

Because it ruined her friendship with Erin's mom.

I nodded again.

" What disaster did you do this time? ", she asked with a horrid face. She looks like she would explode any moment now

" This time I swear – Nothing. ", I mouthed.

How I wish, it was true.
