Feather's point of view

"Brandon... I can't do this!" I whispered, watching him mix stuff together.

"Sure you can! You're strong enough!" He replied, flipping a page in the book.

"No..,Brandon, I'm not! I know nothing about magic!"

"I'm sure it won't be that difficult to learn. You're overreacting." Brandon said in a calm voice.

"Now, Are you almost ready?" He asked, setting down a potion next to the book

I grabbed it and held it up to the light.

"What is it?" I ask, light reflecting inside the bottle.

"A Mana potion, This should give you the energy to fix the mirror. You'll have to drink it once we get outside." He answered, grabbing it out of my hand and sitting it back down on the table.

Brandon looked at me and smiled.

....

I don't want to do this..

I really don't want to do this...

I know nothing about magic...

I haven't even messed with magic that much before!

"Alright. Let's head out.." Brandon said interrupting my thoughts.

"Wait... I don't---"

"Hmm?" He looked at me, raising an eyebrow.  Brandon's eyes held a questioning look, almost like a fierce demand.

"Feather. You're the hero here. It's time you start proving it." All the warmth and compassion seemed to turn to ice.

Brandon's Point of View

Feather looked down at the ground again.

"Feather.... Where's that confidence??" I ask, Trying to lighten the mood.

Right now's not the time to be unsure.

I know she can do it.

I have faith in her.

I trust her.

She can do it.

"I know you can do it!"

"I can't..."

"Yes.... you can"

Her body shifted side to side.

"Brandon... No I can't..."

This is enough...

She needs the confidence.

I know she has the confidence.

"You are doing this!" I snap at her.

She was prepared to say something else,

But sadly...

I didn't stop there.

"You're too soft! Such a weak hero! You can't even do the most simple of tasks! Weak weak weak! WEAK! PATHETIC!" I snarl.

Feather flinched when I raised my voice, but remained silent.

I sank back down into my chair and put my head in my hands.

"I..I'll do it... I'm s-sorry for.. doubting myself..."

I momentarily look up at her.

Feather was frowning at me, a hurt look on her face.

Sighing, I started,"Feather... A lot of people are counting on you..."

My hero...

My hero....

Am I failing as a guide?

Feather point of view

"I'll do it...." I repeated.

Brandon looked frustrated. He was looking at me like I was a failure.

... Am I a failure..?

I don't want to disappoint him...

I don't want to disappoint anyone!

But the way he snapped at me...

I've grown to realize that I'm doing something wrong....

Instantly, A small smile appeared on Brandon's face.

"Thank you..... now let's go.."

Sadly, I watched as he scooped all the items in his hands and walked out of the room, without giving me a second glance.
