The memory serum was spreading fast through Chicago, wiping the memory of every citizen and the knowledge of their lives. They would soon wake up in this unknown place, with an unknown name and be clueless to what happened.

Peter wouldn't open the vault to let Tobias and Tris in to stop the serum; he wanted that to happen to him. He wanted his memory to be wiped and his mind to be wiped of all the horrible things he had done. He didn't care that the memory serum went to the vault when it wasn't supposed to.

Before they knew it, the serum spread into the hallway where Tobias and Tris were. The two looked to each other, their eyes and minds pleading for this to be a dream.

But it wasn't a dream. It was in fact real, and soon enough, they would lose their memories. Of their home, of their friends . . .

Of each other.

Tears built in Tris's eyes even though she willed them not to. She tried connecting back to the ship, where Caleb was, but it was no use. And when she realized that, she slumped down to the floor with her back against the door to the vault. The orange serum was spreading fast and she started to cough. She tried her best not to even breathe, but eventually she had to and the action just made her cough more.

Tris's mind became foggy and she barely felt Tobias sit next to her, barely felt him take a hold of her hand. Her eyes started to close and soon, Tobias was coughing also.

And even though they both soon wouldn't remember, Tobias took a hold of Tris's face and eagerly pressed his mouth against hers in a kiss. He then muttered four little words that meant so much now, but wouldn't soon.

"Remember, I love you."

With one whiff of air, Tris Prior's mind went silent as her eyes fully closed and the world became
