Chapter 9: Walk-Ins

[Joey's POV]

Just as Shane left, Sawyer was playing with his hair. I look into his eyes and immediately knows mad. His eyes clearly show he's infuriated inside. How do I even calm him down? Should I hug him or just talk?

"Sawyer?" I say, coming out a bit too soft. He looks over at me. Afterwards, he looks down at the white-tiled floor.

"He fucking raped you." He says, gritting his teeth. "Abused you." I chuckle quietly. His head darts to my direction and his eyes widen. Obviously I'm not taking this seriously and he is. "Joey, I'm serious!"

"He didn't rape me, Sawyer." I say to him, rolling my eyes jokingly. 

"Hell yeah, he did." He takes off to the hallway or someplace else and I'm left alone in the hospital. Meghan walks in though, accompanying me.

"Hey." She says, smiling shyly.

"Hi." I say back. She sits on the chair facing me.

Joey: May you please tell me the truth about everything?

Meghan nodded. She turned the TV off. Meghan looked at me.

Meghan: Sawyer likes you. No, he loves you.

Joey: Ok. What about Shane?

Meghan: Joey, Shane likes you too.

I nodded.

Joey: Why...?

Meghan: Because Joey, you're perfect.

Joey: But Hannah Montana said nobody's perfect.

Meghan laughed. I smirked.

Meghan: Oh, Joey. Be right back. I'll go see if you're going to be leaving soon.

Meghan left. I was alone for a few minutes. I looked around me and saw a radio. I turned it on.

Radio: So, I sat quietly, agreed politely.

Meghan and a nurse walked in.

Nurse: Joey, you'll be leaving soon. Possibly tomorrow. We'll have to do a few tests on you today.

I nodded. The nurse then left.

Meghan: Do you like that song?

Joey: Yeah.

Meghan: Maybe we could do a Lip Dub!

I was confused. What was a Lip Dub?

Meghan: A lip dub is usually when we do a video about a song and pretend to sing it.

Joey: You always read my mind!

Sawyer walked in.

Joey: Hey Sawyer!

Sawyer: Hey Joey.

The nurse popped in.

Nurse: We have to take a few tests on Joey.

Meghan left.

Sawyer: Can I stay?

Nurse: Sure.

She smiled at Sawyer.

They took some X-Rays or MRI's whatever their called. The nurse grinned.

Nurse: I have excellent news!

Sawyer: Yeah?

Nurse: Joey, here, has temporary amnesia!

Sawyer: Wow! That's great! How long will this amnesia last?

Nurse: Possibly... a week or so.

Sawyer nodded. I'm glad nothing traumatic is happening.

The nurse jotted down some notes.

Nurse: I guess you can leave today!

The nurse left. Sawyer walked up to me and kissed me passionately. Someone walked in.

??: Uhm...

Sawyer pulled away. I looked at the person.

Joey: ...

??: Have fun with your goddamn relationship.

He walked out.
