Zoey's pov

"What are you doing out here?" I ask, leaning against the door frame. Peyton turns around and smiles at me. I smile back, then walk over to him.

"Seriously, what are you doing all alone out here, Peyton? The party's inside," I say, leaning my head against his arm.

"I just, don't think I belong in there," Peyton finally answers. I frown, "What?"

"Zoey, I don't think I belong in there. I can't buy you a birthd-"

I cut him off, "Peyton, I don't care about presents. I hate getting extra attention. Trust me, I really don't care. I just want you to come back inside and hang out."

"I don't know, Zoey," he trails off, pushing his glasses up on his nose.

"Please?" I ask, intertwining his hands with mine, "For me?" Peyton slowly nods, then smiles. I grin and wrap my arms around him tightly, trying to ignore the goosebumps running up and down my arms.

"Wait!" Peyton calls, as I start to turn around. I stop and face him again.

"I, uh, might have something to give you," he says softly, scratching the back of his neck. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bracelet, made out of beads and blue string. I grin as he shyly slides it onto my wrist.

"I know it's not really much, but-" I cut him off for the second time tonight by kissing him on the cheek.

"Trust me, it's perfect."

Peyton smiles brightly and looks into my eyes. Then he gently cups my cheek, and slowly presses his lips to mine.

I'll admit it, the only thing going through my head was "Holy shit!"

Peyton had such soft lips and when we kissed, sparks were flying.

"I- I'm s-sorry," Peyton stutters, blushing a deep red color. He quickly removes his hand from my hip, and looks down at the ground.

"Don't be," I whisper, pressing my lips against his again. He grins and places his hand on the small of my back.

"We have to go inside," I mutter reluctantly, still holding onto Peyton.

"Why?"He whines, his arms wrapped tightly around my cold body.

"Everyone is going to start to miss us," I explain. Peyton groans, but follows behind me closely as we walk back into the house.
