Where has the Time Gone

Chapter Nineteen

(Livie 7 Weeks & Trella 5 weeks)

Works at the center while all my family are off to school or work. I mostly just file paper work and look at resumes and applications. I dont know how much I can handle this, maybe once this new little one is old enough and in school I can continue, but for now I have enough stress on my plate.  

A small knock is on my office door making me look from my papers. "Come in!" I call looking back down to my papers. The door opens and someone slowly enters, I look at some contacts I need to put in. "How may I help you today?" Looking up I see Deklan standing there looking down. 

"Hi mom." Deklan says softly, he makes his way to the leather chairs in front of my desk, all he does is plug in something to my computer making a small whooshing sound appear in my office. This sound is all too familiar, his baby. "I am so sorry mom. Please forgive me." He holds his face, my heart is full and I go around the desk and quickly hug him, he sobs into my shoulder as the whooshing continues. "Im so sorry mom I didnt mean it Im so sorry." 

"Baby boy please dont worry." Hugs him rocking him while he sobs into my shoulder, I wonder if Slade was this way with his parents? I feel so horrible because I know at least what that girl went through. 

"Im so sorry for how I have treated you mom please forgive me. I just dont know what to do?" He sobs into my shoulder. 

"Tell me what are your main sources of stress? Let me take any weight off of your shoulders please?" Begging him, I rub his back waiting patiently for him to calm down. Rocking him side to side he finally calms down just holding me. 

"Being a dad so young, school, I need a job to pay for hospital bills, I am an adult too soon and I didnt mean it!" Sighs nodding rocking him comfortingly. 

"Well I cant take the fact away that your going to be a dad, you can get a GED, I have jobs here, like being my receptionist or a janitor maybe both? I know how hard this is, I was in the same boat as you are. And if I could change this I would, If i could take away all your stress and pain I would, but this is beyond me. So I will help wherever you need me okay?"  He nods his face in my soaked shoulder. 

"Your the best parent ever." I smile with a small hint of pride, thats not my goal to be their best friend just to make my children happy and safe.  

"I love you Deklan." I kiss his head holding him. 

"Can I apply for a job?" He sniffs sitting up straight wiping his face frantically.  

"Well which position did you want?" I go rummaging looking for an application for him. 

"The receptionist, I need to learn to deal with people so I know how to handle Livie properly when she is having mood swings or whatever." He chuckles, I follow chuckling too shaking my head. He doesnt know what he is in for, no matter how much 'training' he thinks he will be doing he will never be prepared for what the wrath of a pregnant teenage girl has in store for him.

"Okay." I get his paper to fill out. "As the boss I am already hiring you, because I see how hard of a worker you already are, but you still need to fill this out for me. Vanessa will help you with the reception training for a week then you are on your own." 

He nods running a hand through his hair. "I really am excited for a new sibling." He chuckles fiddling with his fingers.  I cup his face gently rubbing his cheek with my thumb. 

"Youll make a great big brother as always. Now go to school so your not marked absent." He nods hugging me one last time before exiting my office with the paper in his hand. Leaving his thumb drive behind in my computer.
