Chapter 72:

It's been four days since Jocelyn found out that her daughter is two months pregnant. Of course, she didn't tell Luke about it, but she made herself promise that she'll tell him before Valentine.

Celine was devastated when they left the penthouse that night, even though Clary hasn't checked if she's really pregnant, Jocelyn can't help but to feel guilty for Celine and Jace. And when Clary and Jocelyn saw the results from the doctor's office Jocelyn can't help but to feel happy and sad at the same time. Because she knows that her daughter won't let Jace find out about it.

"Are you sure telling Valentine that Clary's pregnant will be alright? Will it solve things?" Celine asks Jocelyn that day when Clary told her that she is pregnant.

Jocelyn sighs.

"I don't know Celine. But I'm praying that it will..." Celine can't help but to feel worried. She believes that it won't change a thing.

"I'm sorry Celine..." Jocelyn apologized at her because she knows what a mother feels when her child is hurting. Celine sniffed.

"I know. It's not your fault. Just that why is this happening to Jace? I mean. We're Herondale for Angel's sakes. Why is it that Valentine doesn't wanna marry your daughter to the family?" She exclaims. Jocelyn shook her head with a long sigh. She doesn't  really know why, to think that Valentine's father loves the Herondales and Montclairs. Jocelyn gave it a thought that maybe this is some kind of hatred towards her, but she brushed it off.

"I don't really know why..."

Jocelyn called Valentine earlier telling him that she wanted to meet him that she need to tell him a very important news. Of course, Valentine agreed to tell her that she can come over at lunch.

Jocelyn needs to tell Valentine, she knows Valentine still have a heart when it comes to kids. Jocelyn prayed to the Angel, wishing that everything will be alright the moment she tells Valentine.

"So why are you meeting Valentine for lunch?" Luke asks Jocelyn as they reach the elevator.

"Clary's pregnant..." Jocelyn blurted out as Luke coughed. They're on their way up to Valentine's room to meet.

"What... What the hell Jocelyn, Why are you telling me this now? When did you even find out?" Luke whispered yelled. Good, they're the only ones in the elevator.

"I promised Clary, that I won't tell anyone. Just don't tell anyone okay? We'll talk later. Now we need to talk to Valentine about this. I'm sure it will change his mind..."

Jocelyn was walking ahead of Luke when he grabs her. Luke can't help but to feel mad and worried. He knows Valentine more than Jocelyn even though Jocelyn married him before, Luke knows everything about the man.

"Don't you think that this will complicate things more? I don't think Valentine would consider this..." Luke reasoned to her. Jocelyn pulled her arms away looking anxiously to Luke.

"It's a chance. And I say we should take it..."

"What if he won't consider it? This will make things worst..." Luke pleads.

"It's a risk that I'm taking. And if he doesn't want....." Jocelyn sighs as she rubs her face annoyingly.

"I don't know what will I do, Luke. Maybe this time, we should start fighting back. It's not too late..." Jocelyn exclaims looking deeply at Luke. Luke sighs.

"Alright. Fine. " They soon arrived at Valentine's office.

"So what do you want to talk about Jocelyn?.." Valentine stood up from his office chair, getting on point with Jocelyn.
