Chapter 3: New York City, New York

CLARY

We arrived at the Hotel , The Hyatt Times Square hotel that my Father owns. You can see the Morgenstern Pride all over it. I walk into the reception, and grab my card. They already knew that I'm coming good thing they recognize me. Simon and I went it to the elevators with the chauffeur carrying our luggage although we didn't bring much.

Whilst on the elevator " So is it okay if I date Izzy? " Simon asked looking at me. I just smiled. 

" I thought you would never ask, but are you sure? Do you really want to date her? I know she's our great friend at all but you know she's a player too right? " Simon sighed. 

" Yah I know, and I'm scared too you know with all this drama, fix marriages we can't get to choose. Still I wanna try it. " I smiled at him. 

" Fine by me , I guess. Just be careful and make things clear to her... " before he could answer we're at our doors, going inside. We say thanks to the chauffeur and gave a tip.

I look around nothing changed in my Father's place except there's a Piano in the center.

" Father? Father I'm here. " as I was walking to the office I bump into someone, someone's chest well he's taller than me. I look up and see dark eyes and platinum blond same as Father. I saw this man somewhere he looks familiar.

 I blinked " Umm who are you? Where's Valentine? " he just looked at me and smirk. God I hate smirks. I thought. And then Simon came in " Clary... who are you? " looking at the man, he's wearing a perfectly fit suit, his hair tousled perfectly at the back. 

The man opened his mouth but my Father came around already. " Uh Clarissa I missed you. " hugging me tight. " and Simon. " patting he's shoulder. 

" How's Elaine? Your mother? Is she taking a good care of the Hotel in Brooklyn? " you see that's how Simon and I met, Simon's mom is the CEO of my Fathers hotel in Brooklyn Henry Normal hotel to be exact.

Simon just smiled and says " She's pretty busy as always. The hotel is in Good care Val. "

Valentine patted his shoulders again and looked at me.
" I see you met Bass, Clarissa. "
Bass looked at me and stretch his hand,
" Bass , short for Sebastian. " I smile and shake his hand. 

" Call me Clary. You looked familiar do I know you from somewhere? And you look exactly just like Father. " by now we're in the living room sitting. 

" Now Clarissa, why don't you settle in first and will talk after. " I nod and left the room. I walk into my room which is a Lavender room, sighing I lay on my bed thinking and realizing where's Simon. I look around and see him lying as well. I sigh, " I think I know him Simon, I just can't remember how. "

" Just ask your Father Clare. " I know he knows something and probably thinking too. I sighed and walked out. And peak into Fathers Office.

The back of the man is facing me, he's talking to Father " She has to know, Dad.... " 

Dad? Why did he called Valentine Dad? I keep peaking and eavesdropping but I can't hear well enough. 

" You can't do that to her, Mom will be upset. It should be the both of you discussing..... " I can't take it anymore, I remember it's Bass our older brother, he was taken my Father when we were young. I open the door and on the right time Bass turned around and I leap on him Hugging him.
" Bass!!!! I remember now. " I say hugging him hard, with a smile plastered on my face.

BASS

Few hours before Clary arrived, I just arrived too from London. I practically grew in London since middle school Father transferred me there. You could guess because my accent is very different.

I sigh, father and I walked back to the office. I should talk some sense in him. All he cares about is the Empire. He's arranging Clary's engagement already. I should be the one first I'm the Older one. He should not put Clary at this kind of mess. I don't want Clary marrying some dude who she doesn't like. I know it's for business and all. I just hope Clary is brave enough to fight for what she wants.

" She has to know dad, I'm her brother. Why didn't you tell her sooner. "

" That's enough Sebastian, I know you're upset because I'm arranging you're little sister's marriage first than you. " I sigh. Yes I'm upset, I care so much about Clary's happiness. That's why I never came back to Brooklyn. Because I want to do everything to save my siblings for this arrangements. 

" You can't do that to her. Mom will be upset, it should be the both of you discussing.... " then the door flew open I turned around and Clary's hugging me. I was shocked then I hugged back.

" Bass!! I remember now. " I sigh and hug her back with a smile on my face.

" I missed you too Clare. " I say softly.

Simon that rat face walk in. " I guess I'm right, and it's good you remember Clare. " Clary and I looked at Simon. I guess Simon knows.

" You knew Bass, Simon? " 

" Actually I don't I was thinking too, the exact moment I lay on the bed. And I just figured it all out. It's good to see you again Bass. " Simon answered, smiling. 

Then Father choose to speak.
" Now that you remembered. So Clarissa how's Brooklyn? "

CLARY

" It's alright Father. I missed you, that's why we chose to go here, Jon is in the Hamptons with the Herondales. " Father flinched, but smiled still.  

" Oh alright. " he says. I know he wants to asks if why is that Jon didn't come. By now we're back in the living room again, catching up. And then I remember what they we're talking about earlier.  

" So father, what are you and Bass talking about, before I came in the office? " Father looks at me. I didn't miss the fact that Bass flinched when I asked.

" We'll be talking about this on Saturday dinner. Now what's your plan for today? " Father asks. 

" Nothing much. I don't have a plan until tomorrow, I'll be meeting Magnus at the club and I guess the Lightwoods. "

Bass spoke first. " Why don't we catch up first Clare? " I looked up to Father, and Simon. They just shrugged.  

" Alright Bass. "

Meanwhile at the Hamptons.

Will Bass come back home in Brooklyn? And what is their father keeping from Clary?
