Chapter 115: twins 1st Birthday

CLARY

It's been 11 months now and I'm already in my 5th month of pregnancy, and today is the twins birthday. From time to time I still think about Jace, Valentine still has the audacity to email me from time to time whenever Jace's coming to New York. But he never show up, I was wishing for him to show up every single time I received that email but no he never.. I'm guessing he already find out about my circumstances that's why he never bothers or has courage to even make an appearance even just for the kids..

But I also guessed that my brothers have something to do with it, I don't mind though.. I don't really wanna stress myself out that much. Maybe after I gave birth I'll set things straight or maybe I'll just going to let things be again.. I don't really check on Jace's status either, I just know about him working with father nothing else. 

I'm quite happy for what I have right now, in 4 months I'm going to pop out and I can't wait to meet the little one. Tomorrow I'll be heading to my ob-gyne for my check up and ultra sound and I'm way more excited than my first one and I don't really understand why..

"Mommy.. Mommy..." I smiled when I heard Penny's cute voice coming from the other side of the lawn..

Today's the twins 1st birthday and Ian helped me organized it. I'm thankful that he was hands on to the twins, he's a perfect Dad indeed. He takes care of them like they're his own, even though it pains me to see that Jace's not the one who's here to take care of them.. Still I'm glad that the family accepted Ian.. 

"Baby..." she lets go of his grandfather's hand ran towards me.. 

Yes, I invited the head of the Starkweathers..

"Grandfather!!" Tessa beams and stood up from her seat.. 

"Tessa.." her grandfather hugs her and greeted the rest of us..

The party is not that big but not that small.. After all we are a huge bunch, our families has a lot of family members.. Of course I still send an invitation to Valentine and Jace but I didn't get a respond, even Matilda didn't send me a respond. 

"Clarissa... When are you going to marry in the family?" Aloysius suddenly asks, it was already 6 in the evening and the food is almost ready.. The kids are enjoying the party while some of the adults are seating on the other side enjoying..

A month ago, Aloysius asked Ian if he wanted to be adopted to the family and take his name.. Ian's actually an orphan and since Aloysius doesn't have sons left he wanted him take the family name.. 

I almost choked on my drink when I heard that question.. "Grandfather, don't pressure Clary.. You how things is.." Tessa says giving Clary an apologetic look..

"Aloysius.. Let the kids handle it? Alright?" Mom speaks all of a sudden.. Grandfather sighs, "alright.. alright, But I just want to let you know, that you are always welcome to the family.." he tells me.. I nodded, Ian gave me a light squeeze, I look at him and smiled...

How can I? We've been together for months now and I can't seem to erase Jace in my heart no matter what.. And how could I just marry him, just because he's kind to me and love me dearly. I know my mom will be happy and will be at peace if I get settle in, but still...

The party ended just like that, I'm glad the twins enjoyed it.. Even though their father didn't even make an appearance, I'm still glad that they're happy. Christopher on the other hand though is different, since he's like the genius one, whenever I speak about their father.. He's the only one who ask dearly about him, well except for Penny, she's old enough to understand little things..

Chris is different. He even ask me a picture of his dad and that he wanted it on his side bed table for him to remember him... 

The clean up crew finished cleaning up everything when one of the crew hands me two boxes of gift.. I stare at him confusingly, I was the only one left outside, since Mom and Celine are helping Ian clean the kids up. The rest of the family already went home..

"We were told to give this to you after we clean things up Miss.." the man said, I nodded and read the card.. I bite my lip when I recognized the hand written note.. 

He remembers.. Even though he didn't come or call nor text to greet the twins..

I wipe my tears away and thanked the man before going inside..

I immediately ran to the twins room and there I saw that they're still playing and opening the gifts one at a time with their grandmothers.. 

"Hey..." Mom greets me when she saw me..

"Oh.. Who is this from?" she asks me right away when I entered and stopped to kneel down to where the twins is..

"Mommy... is this for us?" Chris asked looking at me with those curious eyes.. I nodded..

"It's from Jace.." I simply told them, Ian smiled at me and patted my back..

"Ohhh, Look Chris and Stephen it's from your Daddy!!" Penny exclaims happily, waiting for the twins to open the gifts..

"Oh.. Sweetie..." Celine exclaims..

"It's fine.. I'm glad he remembers.." I simply says.

"Jace... Dada?" Chris says..

"Da? Da?" Stephen all of a sudden spoke and stare at the gift.. I gasp when I heard him speak, he was a quiet child and doesn't even do baby talks. But here he is, his first word... 

"Go on.. It's from your daddy, you can open it" I encouraged them..

The both of them clapped their hands before ripping the wrapper up..

I smiled when I saw a set of twinning clothes and I'm surprised that the size is right.. 

"I guess Jace got this side of his in you, Celine.." I say smiling at her.. 

"He even bought the kids some Jordans.." Ian says amusingly..

"Daddy.. I want those shoes too.. I like it, I want the same!!!" Penny asks with her pouty lips..

Ian chuckled and hug her little girl, "you want it?" Penny nodded..

The four of us end up laughing..

The twins eyeing the outfit so hard like a teenage boy thinking on what to wear for a date..

Stephen yawned all of a sudden and that led mom and Celine leaving.. Telling us that we should rest.. We agreed, "Goodnight mommy.." Penny says before leaving, giving me and the twins with a quick peck on the cheek. I smiled and kissed her back..

Ian carried her first to her bedroom that I set up since she's been hanging around in our manor.. Ian also set up a bedroom for the twins in his apartment ever since London..

I tuck the twins down to their bed and said my goodnights. I kissed them both and left..

I went inside my room and sat on my vanity chair opening my laptop thinking of emailing Jace or Dad..

"You should call him..." my thoughts was interrupted by Ian's voice coming from my back.. I look up on the mirror and saw him smiling genuinely at him..

"No.. I'll just email dad and let him pass the message.." I shook my head telling him..

"Alright.. If that's what you want.." He tells me and hugs me from the back, leaning down kissing my neck..

"Thank you Ian..." I tell him..

"No.. Thank you, Clary.." He pulls away and pulls me up, making me look at him.. 

He cups my cheek and leans down for a deep passionate kiss...
