Chapter twenty-two: The Most Dangerous Game

Start from the beginning

"Then stop bugging me. You want answers, ask someone who might actually have them. Not someone who will give you more." Walking off to speak with her archer friends, I frowned.

Someone who might actually....

Of course. Why didn't I see it before!?

"Alright cupcakes, today we will be working on situations were you're outnumbered. You will be split into teams of three and we will force as many villains are we can upon you. Once you die you'll be allowed to relax." Coach Hedge said, swinging his baseball bat.

"Um...what about if we surrender?" A student asked. Coach swung his bat towards him.

"Never surrender!!!!!!!" Coach cried.

I will never understand why Coach Hedge was here.

"Now, let's go. May, name off." Agent May. My ticket to answers. If she'll give them of course.

"I'm only saying this once, so please pay attention. Susan Pevenise, Dean Thomas, Lloyd Garmadon. Kurt Wagner, Luna Lovegood, Leo Valdez. Ginny Weasley, Zane, Raphael Hamato. Artemis, Katherine Pryde, Sam Alexander. Cole, Lavender Brown, Waren Worthington the third. Conner Kent, Jason Grace, Parvati Patil. Cho Chang, Luke Cage, Victor Stone. Peter Pevenise, Richard Grayson, Wally West. Bobby Drake, Neville Longbottom, and Alex Summers. Any questions?" Only blank stares.

"Alright cupcakes, find your group!!" Instead of walking over to...Richard and Wally, I walked up to May.

"I said I was only saying it once Pevenise, so hope your group was listening."

"Not what I need. I need information, Agent May." She frowned.

"The groups were decided randomly." I sighed.

"Not what I meant. I need information on the tournament." Her frowned deepened, and she looked at me.

"What are you talking about?" She asked.

"Professor X is acting weird... and so is everyone else. Spider-Man suspended and no one understands why? The Avengers and most of the Justice League both gone at once? Donatello was lead to the Hospital Wing a week ago (or so) and all that anyone knows is that nobody is allowed to see him! Nico Di'Angelo shows up out of nowhere and murders a student. Last year a women who had nothing to do with 70% of the school manages to take over and mess with everything!! How!? What is going on!? If anyone knows what's going on it'll be you." Agent May looked conflicted. I know asking her was a risk. If she didn't give me info, Director Fury would find out that I was poking around. Which will be bad.

"While I agree with you, I don't know anything, I'm sorry. Fury isn't exactly the trusting type... but I do know that he thinks the Reformatory is planning something big." I groaned. What did I expect!?

"Look, I understand that wasn't helpful, but perhaps I can do something else." Agent May said, in answer to my disappointed face. I raised an eyebrow.

"What would that be?" Agent May turned to the group who was split up and getting chewed out by Coach for lord knows what.

"Coach, Richard Grayson, Wally West, and Peter Pevenise are being dismissed to complete... other classified work." Coach snorted.

"Better be important. Cupcakes better be here later to make it up!" May nodded and lead us out of the gym.

"Um...why are we being dismissed exactly?" Richard asked once we were in the hallway.

"That's a very good questioned that should be answered." Wally said. Maria stopped, turning her head slightly.

"Grayson's here because he's a detective, and is a reasonably good hacker."
