I have to hold my breath as I step in the doctor's office, Ty behind me holding Hannah. "Da!" She lays her head on his shoulder, closing her tiny eyes.

I go up to the round receptionist table near a wall, and sign us in.

I already feel like the millions of germs are fighting their way into my body. I shudder.

I turn around and see that Ty has taken a seat near a white hallway. I sit beside him and put Hannah in our laps.

"Mama." She pushes her hand against my stomach. I look at her in a confused way. I pull out a bottle of milk and hand it to her. "Ewie!" She throws it at Ty, who's face it hits.

He glares down at her but then smiles. He picks Hannah up and hugs her. "My little Dauntless chickadee!" He kisses her cheek. She giggles.

A woman with four kids is called back, leaving silence behind her. I take a deep breath as I look at Ty. I lay my head on his shoulder, and not a second later we are called back.

"Hannah Pedrad!" Doctor Kelsey calls us back. We walk toward her, smiling brightly as we reach her.

"Oh my how she's grown!" Kelsey pats Hannah's head, and Hannah gurgles. "Doka!" She touches Doctor Kelsey's shoulder.

We enter the hallway beyond the wooden door where we were called back, and Doctor Kelsey begins talking to us. "She's one early developer." She scribbles things down on a clipboard, and smiles at us.

"That's a good thing," she assures us. She leads us into a room identical to those around it. A bed, two chairs, and a computer desk where the doctor sits.

I place Hannah down gently into the bed, which is covered in white paper to keep it sanitized and germ-less. "Da?" She looks at Ty. Doctor Kelsey peeks over the computer, and then stands up.

"We are going to start the examination as we would anytime." She looks over Hannah, checking to see if she's in any stress or pain, then turns to us.

"Has she started walking yet?" She looks behind at us, peering over her black glasses.

We both nod. "About two weeks ago or so. I've also started to wean her off the breast milk." I say. Kelsey perks back at me.

"That's a good thing. Hannah needs to be introduced to regular milk and regular baby foods around now. She's starting to teethe- very early I might add. But then again, that's a good thing." She smiles.

"Da," Hannah looks at Ty, her small face beginning to scrunch up. Shit. She's probably about to start throwing a tantrum.

"She's also starting to get words out! How early! I am amazed at how early she is beginning to develop! I bet she'll be really smart in school!" Doctor Kelsey grins at us, but Ty actually looks a little sad.

Ty told me that he wanted our children to stay in Dauntless, become warriors and carry on the legend of my parents and the two of us.

A smart kid doesn't necessarily mean that she'll choose Erudite, but it promotes it- promotes the thirst for knowledge, an Erudite trait.
