Flashback
(Victoria 18 & Dominic 20)

It's been months since Victoria last spoke to me. On her birthday, I wished her, but received no reply. I even went to her home, but she refused to see me. Then, my birthday arrived, and I waited all day hoping for a message, but none came. As days passed, Christmas draws near, and I can't bear this silence any longer.

"Now I need to take matters into my own hands," I muttered, gazing out the window at the falling snow.

Pulling out my phone from my pocket, I swiftly dialed Elena's number. After a few rings, she answered.

"Yes, babe?"

"Let's broke up, Elena."

"Okay, as you wish, but you know the price."

"I do, but you'll need to sign a NDA."

"Okay."

"See you tomorrow, then."

After ending the call with Elena, I let out a sigh of relief. Now, all I could do was wait until tomorrow evening, when the drama would unfold at 7.

I know it's a manipulative move, but what can I say? I am a man in love, and they say everything is fair in love and war.

The next day, as planned, I waited in my room as Elena made a dramatic entrance into my house. With a flip of her hair, she stormed in and unleashed a torrent of accusations.

"You're such an àsshole! How dare you cheat on me?"

"Elena, listen, it's not what you think. Please, just hear me out."

"No, you listen to me, you cheating àss!"

"I never cheated on you with another girl, Elena. She was lying."

"And why should I believe you?"

Our heated exchange echoed through the house until my mother rushed into my room, her expression a mix of concern and confusion.

Perfect, because I know she would definitely tell everything to Victoria, making my task easier.

They thought I didn't know about their nightly conversations, but the reality was quite different.

A smirk threatened to spread across my lips, but I suppressed it with my best Oscar-worthy acting as I pleaded with Elena.

"Baby, please, just listen to me," I implored.

"No, Dominic, I've had enough of your cheating ass. I want to break up with you right now," Elena retorted firmly.

"No, please, don't do this to me. You know I can't live without you. I swear on my mom, I never cheated," I pleaded desperately.

Great, now I've driven the final nail into the coffin, just one step away from the success of my plan.

I approached my mother and pleaded, "Mom, you know I'm not that kind of person. Please, tell her the truth. I swear I never cheated on her."

My mother's eyes filled with concern as they met mine, and I silently pleaded with her through my gaze.

As my mom began to walk toward Elena to speak in my favor, Elena stopped her with a gesture of her hand.

"Please, Aunt Isabel, don't. It's our matter, and we can handle it on our own."

My mother nodded in agreement and turned to look at me sympathetically.

As I watched my mother sympathetic look, I couldn't help but think, Very well, Mom, now tell everything to Victoria and don't miss a single detail. However, Elena's voice brought me back to reality.

"Let's just break up, Dominic. I don't want to live with you anymore."

"Please, baby," I pleaded.

Giving me a stern look, she left me alone with my mother. To make the moment more dramatic, I picked up a glass and threw it carefully, ensuring not to hurt my mother.

My mother gasped as the glass collided with the wall, shattering on the floor.

"Dio, Dominic, sweetheart, everything..."

"Mom, please leave. I don't want to talk with anyone right now."

"Dominic, my child..."

"Mom, please."

As my mother left my room, her expression filled with pity, I couldn't help but feel a surge of satisfaction.

"Now I just have to wait for two days maximum," I thought to myself, a broad smile stretching across my lips.

The entire day, I didn't leave my room. To make it more realistic, I locked myself in, switched off my phone, and refused to eat.

My mom came accompanied by my dad, offering words of comfort, reassuring me that everything would be alright. They reminded me that life has its ups and downs and many more knowledgeable things but I don't want comforting words or sympathy, I want a certain blonde in my arms as soon as possible.

Their words of comfort fell on deaf ears as I remained locked in my room. Eventually, they left my meal at the door, giving me the space I pretended to want.

As I sat by the window, watching the snowfall, time passed unnoticed. Suddenly, I glanced at the clock; it was 3 in the morning.

I quickly got up and I peeked outside my room, ensuring that my parents were asleep.

Without hesitation, I shed my warm clothes on my room and stood barefoot on the snow outside of the warm house, knowing that by morning, I would likely have a high fever. But this sacrifice was necessary for the success of my plan.

After enduring an hour in the chilly night with only thin clothes, I finally returned to my room. The dizziness and sickness were overwhelming, but I pushed through. I quickly put my warm clothes back on and collapsed onto my bed.

As I slowly opened my eyes, a wave of heat engulfed my body, making me feel like I was burning from within. I noticed my parents by my bedside, their faces etched with concern. My mom's eyes were filled with tears, and in that moment, I felt like the biggest jerk in the world.

Throughout the day, I battled with a relentless fever, my body aching and my head pounding.

My mother handed me the medicine, and like an obedient child, I dutifully placed the tablet in my mouth. However, as soon as she turned around, I discreetly spat it out every single time.

Aunt Grace and Uncle James also came to visit me, but the one person I longed to see the most, never came.

On the third day, I was on my bed, coughing violently, my eyes burning with fever, and my head throbbing with pain. Amidst my suffering, I heard soft footsteps approaching my room.

Confused, I turned my gaze towards the door. As it opened, I saw her standing there, looking as beautiful as ever,

Time seemed to slow down as I watched the flutter of her lashes and the gentle rise and fall of her chest. Every moment felt suspended in time as I stared at her, completely captivated by her presence. When her eyes met mine, it felt as though the world around us faded away, and in that moment, I swear she took my breath away.
