"How dare you address me in such a manner?" Elizabeth's voice sliced through the air like a shard of ice, her tone dripping with disbelief.

"I believe I made it abundantly clear that my words were not directed at you, darling." Zahara's repetition dripped with bitterness, her tone laced with venom.

A collective intake of breath swept through the room, anticipation thickening the air as everyone awaited Elizabeth's response. Concealing a smirk, I observed, fully aware of whom Zahara considered her alpha.

Us.

"There's no one else in this room worthy of such a title," Elizabeth sneered her voice bitter and icy cold.

Satin's growl reverberated fiercely in my mind, her displeasure at the disrespect towards our pack unmistakable.

She can't get away with that Aly.

She won't.

Zahara stiffened noticeably, and I observed the tension ripple through my pack at Elizabeth's statement. Feeling Jax's grip on my hand, I couldn't help but roll my eyes in response. "The world doesn't orbit around you, darling," I scoffed, dismissing Elizabeth's insult with a hint of amusement.

"What do you, an Omega, possibly know about it?" Elizabeth spat, her words laced with venomous disdain. With a calculated smirk, I relinquished my grip on Jax's hand, leaning in with deliberate intensity, my gaze locked onto Elizabeth, while beside me I took note of Aztec's rigid posture.

"I may be an Omega, but I understand more than you realize," I replied calmly, my tone measured and deliberate. "Wisdom isn't bound by titles." With a steady gaze, I met Elizabeth's gaze, refusing to be shaken by her provocation, while internally, I sensed Satin's silent support, grounding me.

"What could a mere Omega possibly comprehend about leading a pack?" Elizabeth's voice wavered, her once unwavering confidence faltering. Yet, her words hung in the air like a challenge, daring me to defy her expectations.

"Far more than an acting Luna," I stated calmly, my words cutting through the room like a sharp blade, igniting a flurry of confused whispers among the onlookers.

"Enough ." Aztec's authoritative voice sliced through the tension, bringing an abrupt silence to the room. With a nonchalant shrug, I shifted my gaze to Zahara.

"I choose Dare, Zahara," I declared, signaling my return to the game with a renewed sense of determination.

"What!?" Elizabeth's outburst startled the room as she shot off the couch to her feet, her words dripping with disdain. "You see this mutt as your Alpha? Your Luna?" Her voice crackled with disbelief, her icy gaze narrowing on me. "That is pure nonsense! She's an Omega, a weakling. She can't possibly be stronger than a regular pup."

"Calm down, Li-Luna," Jax interjected, in an attempt to diffuse the tension, but I couldn't help but notice the amusement in his tone. "Let's just play the game," he suggested his words carrying a subtle invitation to redirect the focus away from the brewing conflict.

I'm glad he found this so amusing because I merely found it irritating and Satin fully agreed with me. Pushing down the urge to put the stupid bitch back in her place, I took a calming breath, fixing her with a gaze filled with silent judgment, silently asserting my authority without resorting to overt confrontation.
