Sydney

I walked down the corridor, trailing after Jaden who had been cryptic all day. He was being elouf and distant, now he was pacing down the hall towards our hotel room.

The gala had been unsettling but I had tried to push past this weekend. We had left an hour after the dance, once Bella I came back to the room Harry was gone. The whole table had left.

I still hadn't really processed any of this. Everything felt jolted, like the wind had been knocked out of me.

I'd been on the phone to Evangeline this morning, talking through the weekend, my speech and Harry. She said she was proud of me for doing the speech so brilliantly as she watched it on YouTube. She also said I should try and move past this weekend, be proud for getting through it.

Jaden said he had something in the room we had to get, but wouldn't slow down to explain himself.

None of my friends knew about the situation with Harry in the elevator still. They just thought I was upset after the dance, which I was. Both of them had thrown me for a loop and I hated how much he was in my head.

"Jay, come on. I'm in heals, please slow down." I called up the corridor.

We were all going out for the last dinner, the rest of the group downstairs waiting for cars. I was excited to get back to LA after this weekend. Seeing Harry had thrown a spanner in the mix. Our rendezvous yesterday was a mind fuck.

"We're here, come on. You go in." He chuckled, seemingly back to normal.

"God, what do you need this badly? I feel like I've run a marathon." I laughed back, walking through the door with my gaze still on him.

I turned my head to face the room, looking at the living room area we had in the penthouse. Two sofas and a coffee table between them. On the right sofa, sat Harry.

He was in a navy suit, white button shirt and dress shoes. I recognised it, I think I had seen a picture of him wearing it on tour. His hair was messy, like he'd been anxiously playing with it.

We both looked at each other in confusion then back at Jaden behind us. I turned in my heals ready to throw myself at Jaden and get out of this room.

"Don't hate me!" He called, slamming the door shut and turning a lock.

I charged at the door, banging my palm on it.

"Jaden Christopher Syre Smith!! Open this door right now. I'm gonna kill you." I shouted, continuing to bang my palm angrily.

"Sorry Syd, you've gotta talk. This was the only way." His voice sounded further away, as he was clearly walking down the hallway.

"Jaden I swear to fucking god!" I shouted, but he didn't reply.

I turned back to Harry, who was now on his feet a few metres away from me. My gaze was cold, I was still angry about the way Jeff treated me yesterday. I also didn't like the feelings I felt the past two days. I was embarrassed at my actions.

Huffing, I began searching the suite for the hotel reception phone. I started searching under jackets, suitcases, drawers and in my room through the double doors on the left.

Harry hadn't said anything.

"Why are you here?" I called, from my bedroom.

"Are you talking to me?" He called from the sofa, not moving.

"Obviously. Who else is here? I was tricked, why are you here?" I asked, my voice emotionless, my heals clicking along the marble floor as I came back in.
