Harry

I kissed her. I really got to finally kiss her after these weeks of desperately wanting to. God it was perfect. She was perfect.

Throughout the day, I had wanted to call her and get her to come over but I sat and worked on the song. A few hours passed and I really believed it was something special. It was exactly the what I wanted on the album.

Having Sydney come round and hear her say that the song was perfect, was like music to my ears. As soon as I could I would be showing Mitch and Jeff, and getting in onto the album.

Honestly I don't know how Sydney had already had such an impact on my life, but she really had. I wondered if I had done the same for her.
It was strange, after such a small period of time together I already had shared a lot.

After I kissed her we were both on this high, neither of us could stop smiling. I wanted to take her home, but her car was already down stairs so she ended up going home alone.

Together we went down to the lobby, and before she walked out the entrance I gave her a quick kiss and her face instantly blushed.

Since then, a few days had passed. I was worried about when I would see Syd next because I had flown back to London, and she was still in the city. My trip to New York had been extended too much, and it was time to head home.

Mitch and Sarah were back too and we were going to record Carolina, Woman, Two Ghosts and Only Angel. Sydney text me telling me that her friend had given the ok about Carolina, which made the whole team ecstatic.

It was definitely a favourite.

I was now on my way to yet another studio, where I wished I was meeting Sydney. Sadly that was not the case.

When I arrived and went into the room we had rented, I  was met by Mitch, Sarah and Jeff.
"Hey guys", I smiled.
"Harold, finally. You ready to do some singing?" Jeff asked and I nodded, walking in the booth.

We started with Only Angel and really played around with it. It was very fun to record this upbeat song first because it allowed me to wake up for the rest of them. Jeff suggested the "Woohoos" and we agreed there would be a lot of instruments and background vocals used in this song.

Mitch got to freestyle on his electric guitar and we had music all ready for Sarah; her drums always completed a song. At one point I brought Jeff into the booth to record some clapping and overall the song sounded really great.

Once Only Angel was done, we finished Woman. Sarah had already recorded the drums and I had done the piano so after Mitch's guitar pieces and my vocals, it was perfect.

Finally we had Carolina. Jeff was in talks about making it a single so we just let completely lose on it. My idea for the LaLaLas was loved by Sydney so me and Jeff hauled in the booth and went for it.

We wanted it to be a party song so when I mentioned to Mitch about bringing in pots and pans to layer over it, he couldn't say no. Everyone just kept going, dancing around the booth with drum sticks and pan lids having a good time.

As much fun as I was having, I wished Sydney was here too. This was her song and I really wanted her to hear how great it had become. Her lyrics were the blueprint and today we had really made something special with them.

Finally, once an three hours had passed and four songs had been perfected, it was time to record Two Ghosts. I had sent over a voice recording of me singing it to Jeff and Mitch, and they gave me the okay to do whatever I wanted with it.

They recognised it was a meaningful song to me and that I wanted to strip it back and make it a softer song.

I went into the booth and the atmosphere of the room changed. Jeff, Sarah and Mitch watched me intently as I sang. After my vocals were finished, Mitch and I sat strumming the guitars together.

Everyone agreed that it was a really great song, and there was no doubt it would be on the album. As I walked out of the booth, Jeff came over and patted me on the back saying

"Harry, it's really great. You should be proud."

This made me grin, as I flopped down next to Mitch on the leather sofa. It reminded me of Sydney and the way she had done the same next to Sarah, back in New York.

New York. I missed it already. I missed Sydney and that night on the roof watching the stars and the moon. My mind flashed memories of her, the wind blowing through her blonde locks.

I could hear her voice, "Tell me something Harry Styles."

Without thinking, I stood up from my spot and over to the piano in the corner. Mitch was strumming on his guitar and Sarah was talking to Jeff. I began to softly play the keys in front of me and hum the melody that had been playing in my head. Once I had found a rhythm , I began to sing.

Tell me something, tell me something
You don't know nothing, just pretend you do
I need something, so tell me something new

Choose your words 'cause there's no antidote
For this curse
Oh, what's it waiting for?
Must this hurt you just before you go?

The lyrics reflected my feelings towards Sydney. Always wanting to know more about her. My mystery girl.

Oh, tell me something I don't already know
Oh, tell me something I don't already know

Brooklyn saw me, empty at the news
There's no water inside this swimming pool
Almost over, had enough from you
And I've been praying, I never did before
Understand I'm talking to the walls
I've been praying ever since New York

It was strange but since those few weeks in New York, I felt changed. Everything did. Sydney had reminded me about the album and how it was mine and how I shouldn't put up these barriers. The album could be whatever I wanted it to be.

Oh, tell me something I don't already know
Oh, tell me something I don't already know
Oh, tell me something I don't already know
Oh, tell me something I don't already know

Tell me something, tell me something
You don't know nothing, just pretend you do
Tell me something just before you go

Oh, tell me something I don't already know
Oh, tell me something I don't already know
Oh, tell me something I don't already know
Oh, tell me something I don't already know

I repeated the final line and stopped singing.
My head turned around and I saw Mitch, Jeff and Sarah all clapping. Songs didn't always flow that easily. Sometimes they took time to work on but this one just felt right.

As I began to completely turn my body around, my eyes flicked to the door of the room. It was open and standing right there was the person I had been wishing to see all day.
