Sydney

I pushed through the glass doors, and into the bustling pub. Due to the Christmas season, tinsel covered the bar and a large tree stood proudly in the corner.

Everyone around were laughing and smiling, and a few people even had Santa hats on. Tonight was Christmas karaoke night at one of my local pubs, here in London.

My eyes glanced around the room trying to spot my date for the evening. I was convinced I was too early, until I heard that familiar Irish accent.

I turned on my heals and was faced with Niall, leaning over the bar and grabbing two large pints. My face broke out in a smile, as I walked closer to him.

Once he had spotted me, he began to grin and loudly shouted "Sydney!" He placed the drinks on his table near the bar, then came over to me and brought me into a tight hug.

"Nialler, how you been?" I chuckled, as he let go and led us over to the table.

"I've been great! Your accent is stronger, how long have you been here." He asked as I began sipping the Guinness in front of me.

"Uh...about two weeks. I think I'm here till January." I explained and Niall's eyes widened.

This reaction was normal from my friends due to the fact I never do Christmas in London. Like I said before, my relationship with this city is complicated.

"You're staying in one place for a whole month?" I laughed as I sipped my drink, nodding my head slightly.

"Yes I know it's a shocker. Just thought I could change it up this year. Turns out Christmas in London isn't actually too bad." Niall gave a genuine smile as I spoke, instantly making me feel comfortable.

"Is it maybe to do with a certain charming brunette from Holmes Chapel..." Niall playfully suggested as his eye brow raised.

"You've been talking to Louis huh?" I leant back on my leather seat, and raised my eyebrow back at him.

He smirked at my response, "Maybe...we both think you'd be a very cute couple."

"Hmm of course you do. Well it's not as simple as that...you know it isn't." Niall's smile faded slightly at my change of tone.

He let out a long breath before saying, "Syd, Harry isn't like that. How much does he know?"

I clicked my tongue as I thought for a second, "Uh...not a lot. I'm not really ready yet. We spoke about the crash the other day, I'll get to everything eventually." I let out a breath, and sipped my beer.

"I'm proud of you for telling him that, even if it was only a little. Take your time, he'll understand." Niall grabbed my hand over the table, and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

"Thanks Niall, I hope so. It's been actually really good so far." I smiled and his face began to mirror mine.

"Tell me all about it, we can keep it between us ok. I know how you get about this stuff." I rolled my eyes, but knew he was right.

"Uh well we met at Blue Tunes, you know the club I sing at sometimes? Anyway met him there, ended up giving him a song for his album and then we started hanging out. It's a bit all over the place but that's just me isn't it."
