Flying
Declan was enjoying the speed. It was almost like he was flying through the night. He stayed ahead of Katherine and Orelius, trying to give himself space to think. As much as he hated to admit it, there was something wrong with him. He had never been this volatile before.
He couldn't think why Orelius would get on his nerves so easily when there was something so important that they needed to accomplish. Maybe it had something to do with—
Midnight swerved to the side, dislodging Declan and sending him soaring. He was surprised he didn't hit a tree or the even the ground. He was actually flying. No, he was falling. Falling fast. He tried to reach out to grab something and could feel dirt zooming past.
They had reached Death's Valley.
