Everyone could just stand and watch as the yiu gest detective in the Intelligence Unit was shoved and fell against a wall, his head cracking against the brick. His body slumped over like a sack of potatoes and he just lay there, unresponsive.

His Sergeant ran over, shouting for someone to call a ambulance, as he dropped by Jay Halstead unmoving body. Taking in how much blood was falling from the laceration that was on the back of the 23 year olds head.

Hank threw off the jacket he was wearing, bundling it up and pressing it to the head i jury, hoping to stem the bleeding just a little bit. He was moved away roughly by two paramedics he didn't recognise.

They started shouting orders, while laying Jay down, attaching a C Collar onto his neck while also checking his other vitals. Nothing coming back positive.

"We need to get him to Med, ASAP, who is coming with us?" the male paramedic asked

"Me, I have access to his medical care" Hank shouted, pushing his way to be beside his detective

The paramedics just nodded, guiding the elder man to the ambulance while loading Jay in quickly yet carefully. As they loaded the man in he started to wake, but he was panicked and extremely out of it.

"No, take it off, take it off" Jay cried, squirming around trying to take off the collar the paramedics had strapped on tightly to keep his neck safe

"Woah, Detected Halstead, you need to keep this on" the female paramedic said sternly

"No, no, pwease" Jay shouted, and so Hank intervened, quickly taking Jays hands and holding them tightly

"Kiddo, you're ok, we can take it off in a minute, let the doctors have a look first" Hank said gently, keeping his eyes focused on Jay

"Hwank pwease, dwont wan it" Jay cried, still trying to get it off

"Buddy, please calm down, we are nearly at Med, Will is there" Hank soothed, looking at the paramedic who had also noticed the speech change

The smaller detective continued to cry but stopped squirming, he had a tight grip on Hanks hands and wouldn't let go, even when the paramedics announced the arrival at Med. Jay panicked even more when the doors opened and loud orders were shouted from above him.

"No, dwaddy, don weave Jay" was all the brown haired detective yelled as Hank was forced to wait in the waiting room

"Please let me stay with him, he's clearly terrified" Hank pleaded

"Sir, we cannot let you stay, please wait in the family room" a doctor said, someone Hank didn't recognise

"No, find me Maggie or Will Halstead, I need to stay with him" Hank responded, leaving no room for an argument

"Fine, you can stay with him" the man sneered, allowing Hank to shove oast him and stand by Jay

"Dwaddy, howme" Jay cried, struggking against the nurses to get to Hank

"Buddy, you need to stay still, let the nurses look at you then we can go home, I promise" Hank pleaded

Sensing Hank was close was enough for the man to start calming down, small sniffles left every so often, but Jay stayed still ajd allowed the people around him properly look at his head, and finally take the C collar off when they cleared his neck of any injury.

The smaller man was now looking even smaller as he laid on the hospital bed, his eyes searching yhe room anxiously, hand still tightly holding Hanks. The older Sergeant had now sat down next to Jay and was gently rubbing his thumb over the Detective's soft hand.

"You ok now kiddo?" Hank asked softly

"Wan gwo howme" Jay whimpered, looking at Hank

"Soon kiddo, we need to see what Will says" Hank soothed, still unsure as to why Jay had called him daddy and why his detective was speaking so childishly

His answer was soon given to him as Will announced that the hit to the head had caused a regression in the brown haired Detective. It was unknown how long it would last but he would need 24 hour supervision and there was a chance he would regress more before he got better.

Hank decided he would look after the small detective as even with his brother in the room, Jay had not let go of Hanks hand. His other hand had slipped up and he was sucking on his thumb, but Hank was quick to stop him from doing that.

"No bud, that's dirty" Hank scolded, not expecting the smaller man to burst into tears

"I'll see if I can find a dummy" Will rushed out, watching as Hank lifted his smaller brother like he weighed nothing, and placed him on his lap

"Shush, little man, you're ok" Hank soothed

"Dawddy" Jay cried, thumb creeping back up but Hank once again stopped him

"Jay that's dirty, wait until Will finds you a dummy" Hank scolded once again, holding Jay closely, adding a soft sway to his knees to add some comfort
