Shawnie's POV

"I can't just sit here. I have to try to do something." I say

"You're going to sit here and wait." Joe says

"Shit!" I say. "I need to tell Christian this is happening so he can tell Shelby."

"Now that you can do."

I call Christian. "Hey!" He answers

"Hey. So exactly what I didn't want to happen, is happening in like 30 minutes."

"What?"

"Can you merge in Shelby so I can talk to both of you?"

"Yeah, hold on." He clicks on the other line and comes back after a minute.

"Okay, so, as you guys know I filed for divorce a few days ago."

"Yeah." Christian says

"Aubrey is very upset with me. Before I got back in touch with Christian, Aubrey hired a private investigator. Of course I didn't know anything about it. When we ran into each other the PI took pictures of Christian and I. There are pictures of us hugging and getting into the back of my car because I didn't want anyone getting photos of that."

"In the back of your car?" Shelby says

"Why would I sit in the front and him in the back?"

"I guess..." she says seemingly giving attitude.

"There are also photos of Christian and I from that day and some of that night we were at that restaurant, but Aubrey was there too."

"Okay?"

"I'm telling you guys to tell you this, Aubrey is going to release these photos and claim I was cheating on him with Christian. I need to give you guys a heads up because the media will come to you to get answers and the fact that you guys are engaged, it could be more of a scandal. So I think you guys should go home if you're at work because it's probably about to be bad." I say

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Shelby snaps. "How did I get pulled into this? I have nothing to do with your marriage but he thinks it's okay to do this?"

"That's Aubrey. He doesn't care who he hurts. He only cares about himself. I'm sorry."

"Shawnie, it's okay. We know the truth." Christian says

"But it's not okay. This is my life."

"It's our life, yes." He corrects her. "But Shawnie is our friend. We know the truth but what he's doing to her is not okay. I can deal with this but Shelby, come over to my house and we can ride this out together. Shawnie, whatever you need let me know. We are here to help." Christian says

"I appreciate that. Don't post anything on social media, don't say anything to anyone. I understand you have to let your company know. I have a publicist that has to approve anything that's said so please just run it by me if you post."

"Yeah, sure." Shelby says, then hangs up.

"I'm sorry, Shawnie. I hate that you're going through this. Shelby will be fine." He says

"She's so upset with me."

"It's not you, it's the situation. She'll be alright." He says

"Make sure she gets home safely."

"I will. Call me if you need me." He says then we end the call.

"What did they say?" Joe asks

"Shelby is pissed. I kinda had a conversation about this with Christian before so I feel like he knew this would come eventually. He didn't seem too upset about it."
