POV- Justice

A sense of euphoria came over me when the storm passed as well as relief that I kept Asya from harm. I wasn't going to let anyone harm her ever again. As her savior that was my job.

She woke up again and began to ease her way out of the crevice after me. After a few minutes of struggling, we eventually wandered out and stood up for the first time in days. Or however long because I couldn't really see the sun much. Asya blended in incredibly well with the darkness while I stood out.

She began to climb the rocks and I followed after her. She plopped on the highest one while I went to the one beside it that was a little lower.

"Justice. I have a serious question for you," Asya said with a small amount of hurt and bitterness in her voice.

"Yes of course," I replied sincerely.

"Am I the problem? If so, do you wanna be the problem with me? I wanna be your friend," she said with a crack in her voice.

"You certainly haven't been a problem to me Asya. We can cause as much problems as we can together. The universe is full of them so may as well do more right?" I replied with reassurance.

"Thanks for understanding Justice," she said with sadness.

God damn it one day I would love to see her smile or giggle just once.

"What can I do to help you? I'll do anything," I pleaded.

"I'm afraid there isn't much. The only cure is Viodust. If you gave me that, I'd be doomed with how much the virus runs wildly inside me," she said with a heaving breath.

Every day she fought for her life. That virus is trying extremely hard to keep her alive while making her suffer.

"I think I can find some," I offered.

"No. You can't. It's in Hope's necklace. She's asleep. I've already scouted and it's no use," she said while coughing black blood out of her mouth.

"It's taking you isn't it?" I asked worriedly.

"No. The virus will only run rampant until I decide when the pain ends. No cure will help me Justice," she said while holding herself for support.

"I'm really sorry Asya," I apologized.

"I will be okay until the universe decides to get rid of me. I am one of many of the Universe's problems," she assured me.

"Thank god. I hope you stay alive as long as possible so I can teach you the ways of the universe," I said with a small smile.

"I already know them," Asya said straight faced.

"Well, maybe there's some things you don't know," I tried.

"There isn't, Justice," she said with a tone of annoyance.

"Oh well, it was worth a shot," I sighed.

      "Thanks for trying," she said.

      "I guess," I sighed again.

"I know you'll live a long time. I truly believe you will," Asya said with assurance.

"I will try to, Asya," I said peacefully.

"Thank you," she said without looking at me.

She hadn't met my eyes this entire time. I was slightly worried something was wrong. Something was wrong.

"I wanna fight you," she said with a cold tone.

"Why," I said looking at the waters.

"It may cure me. It's worth a shot correct?" she replied.

"I guess so," I paused, "Hard or easy?"

"Enough to make me try," she said coldly.

      "Hard it is," I scoffed.

She climbed down the rocks and landed on the mirror with a plop. She looked at me with a determined glare. I didn't know if she hated me or liked me. I really wanted to know.

I flew away far from her but still close enough to see her.

"You have the first shot," she gestured.

I nodded in agreement and began to float upwards with my lightning. It spread out around me like a vine and swirled around me. The light swarmed and I shot it at Asya. She saw it coming and ran out of the way. She began to float with her virus wings as well. The fight was now even. She spat out black blood and took a pause. Small glass shards began to come out of her mouth and eyes. I heaved a breath of fear and flew out of the way.

I flew higher and it turns out she was creating a storm. She screamed as more glass shards flew out. I sensed she was in a world of pain. The storm went further and further out of her and swirled around her. The storm finished leaving her and I could no longer see her. The storm spread out and started to head towards me.

I flew faster back and started shooting my lightning with controlled precision. I shot more and more into the storm as the lightning bounced off the glass shards. I could hear her screams as she fought against the storm. I felt like trying to fight her was a mistake. As her savior I should pride in her safety and well-being.

"ASYA?!?! ARE YOU OKAY?!!!" I screamed into the storm.

      Nothing.

      Nothing. NOTHING.

      NOTHING!

I began to throw out more uncontrolled lightning as I started to fly back as the storm grew. The further away I got, the more her whines and screams faded. I started to worry for her safety and began to try and circle the storm as fast I could. I threw on my helmet and began to ride along the glass edges of the storm. I began to realize quickly that the glass was sharper than I anticipated. It scratched my armor as I flew. I began to back away again and try to avoid her storm to try and think of a better plan.

At this point, I was frustrated with myself. I was frustrated that I couldn't just go in there and save her. I was frustrated that I wasn't brave enough.

It was all in the moment.

It all happened in slow motion.

I began to dive right into the storm. I wanted to keep that euphoria of protecting her. I'm her savior. I'm her savior.

      I'm. Her. Savior.

I dove further and further into the storm to make sure. As I got closer, the screams got louder. She whined in pain. I slammed into her at high speeds and grabbed her. I told you I'm going to stick through it with you. No matter the consequences. I've got you and I always will. Until death, Asya.

She cried and whined as I picked her up. I felt so bad for her. The storm couldn't get into space could it?

     I was sure it couldn't.

Asya pushed the storm off even though she felt weak. The storm left her body finally. That's why she wanted to fight.

She wanted to let it go.

     She wanted to feel.

     She wanted to live.

She wanted me to save her.

    She wanted happiness.

Even though she wanted to destroy every last bit of it.

She wanted to feel the light.

She wanted to feel the dark.

She wanted to be the best version of herself deep down.

     Most importantly...

She wanted to feel what I felt when I saved her.

     Euphoria.
