Alice looks stunning, her hair pinned up into a tight bun and an elegant royal blue dress clinging to her hips for dear life. Her eyes sparkled brighter than the the city lights as we turned the corner and her hand tightened around mine as a rather disoriented young man stumbled out of a local pub.

"Where are we headed?" She questioned looking over at me

I shrugged "It's a surprise."

"Why does it always have to be a surprise?" Alice whined giving me her best pouty face

She looked absolutely adorable but I had never been one to give in on telling her what a surprise was before it happened.

"It's more fun than way." I grinned leaning over and kissing her cheek

She sighed "Fine but can you at least tell me how much farther it is?"

"We're almost there beautiful." I replied checking my phone for the time which read 10:03

She smiled over at me "That's good to hear because these heels are not that easy to walk in honestly."

"They're heels they're not meant to be comfortable, I'm pretty sure their history involves being a torture devise invented by men for something involving us not being able to run away as fast or some shit." I rambled on

She giggled softly "That was such eloquent wording babe."

"I'm an eloquent kinda girl." I laughed

She rolled her eyes just as we stopped outside the place that Ben had told me about earlier when I'd asked for suggestions on a good date spot for tonight.

"What is this place?" She asked looking over at me

"Just follow me." I stated with a smile

I walked inside the building labeled with a rather eloquent, ha I used eloquent again, sign reading The Skyline. The inside was decorated in a contrast of black and white with two marble stair cases in the back of the room. There was a seating area with black leather couches on the right and a sleek black desk on the left where a young man was standing.

"Good evening ladies, I regret to inform you that we are completely booked for tonight." The young man stated with a frown

"Damn I guess we'll have to go somewhere else." Alice said quietly

"No worries sir, we have a reservation." I smiled

Alice liked over at me surprised as the young man smiled at me "Ah I see, in that case what's the name?"

"Collins." I replied taking a step closer to the desk

His eyes went wide as he looked at the list "Ah miss Collins, such a pleasure to have you joining us tonight. If you'll both follow me I'll show you to the roof."

"The roof?" Alice whispered to me

I simply nodded as we followed the young man to an elevator hidden behind the marble staircases.

"So how has your day been so far ladies?" He asked after pushing the button

"Quite eventful." I replied with a laugh

He smiled "And what caused it to be so eventful?"

"Just the people we're traveling with and all the events we attended with them today." Blair responded

"One person made today particularly eventful." Alice chuckled causing me to laugh along

He seemed slightly confused "I feel as though I'm missing something."

"You are but unfortunately it's a longer story that an elevator ride allows time for." I said as we stepped inside

He pressed the button labeled R and the doors closed us in "Most stories are."

The rest of the ride up was filled with a comfortable silence and I didn't mind it in the slightest.

As the doors opened Alice gasped at the view before her. There were tables covered in white cloth scattered across the room with twinkle lights strung above. A band was playing in the far right corner to a rather upbeat tune I did not recognize and couples were conversing over meals that looked absolutely delicious.

"This is beautiful Blair, how did you even know about this place?" Alice asked looking over at me

"Let's just say I had a little help from Ben." I smiled back at her

The young nan whose name I still didn't know led us to a table against the wall where we could see almost the entire city.

"I hope you two have a lovely meal." He smiled before starting to turn to walk away

"Wait!" I said causing him to turn back around as I dug through my purse and pulled out five twenties handing them to him "Thank you so much."

"Ah," he mumbled out looking at the money but not moving to take it "There is no need to tip me miss, it's my job."

"Please take it, you seem like a really nice guy and I really appreciate your hospitality." I replied

He smiled and awkwardly took the lover before nodding at me nervously "Thank you so much miss."

"Of course, also I never caught your name." I replied

"Thomas." He smiled

"It's been very nice to meet you Thomas, thank you so much again." I smiled

"Yeah thank you." Alice grinned

"Of course and thank you! Have a great meal ladies!" He smiled waving at us as he headed back towards the elevator

"He was sweet." Alice smiled over at me taking my hand in hers

"Yeah he was." I grinned

A waitress who appeared to be in her mid to late thirties with brown hair that was tied back into a pony tail and a completely black uniform came over to our table within minutes.

"Hello ladies my name is Zariah and I'm going to be your server tonight. Can I start you off with something to drink?" She asked smiling down at us

"I'll have a water." I smiled back at her

"I'll have the same." Alice grinned

"Alright and I'll be right back with those." She smiled before disappearing through a door next to the elevator

"This really is beautiful Blair." Alice smiled to herself as she gazed out at the city

"Not as beautiful as you." I grinned taking her hand in mine
