It's been a whole month since the boys had left for their mission and it's killing me, being here without Vincenzo.
I pull the covers off my body and stare up at the ceiling then to Vincenzo 's side of the bed where tequila is laying down.
That puppy is the only thing keeping me sane right now.
There hasn't been a word from them which makes me worried. Running my fingers through my hair I get out of bed and get ready for the day.
Looking in the mirror, I notice the bags under my eyes. I have not slept since Vincenzo left.
First stop, breakfast.
Elena sends me a message telling me to bring Caterina down from her room. I love my niece, but when she cries, everything goes to hell.
Throwing my hoodie and my slippers on, I leave my room and already hear Caterina crying. Tequila follows behind me.
I jog to the nursery and Caterina is already sitting up in her crib and her face turning bright red.
"Oh come one, princess. It's too early for this." I groan and lift her up, lightly kissing her cheek and resting her on my chest. "Shh, la tía está aquí." (Auntie's here)
She quietens down and I hear her soft sigh which always makes me happy. "See, it wasn't so hard." I smile and she giggles as I kiss her cheek. "I miss them too, but your papa and your uncles are ok and they'll be back." She smiles at me and I put her little jacket over her onesie and head downstairs.
"Morning, sweetheart." Andrea hugs me.
"Morning, Andrea."
"Morning, baby." Mom walks into the dining room with a tray full of food and places it on the table. She comes over and kisses my cheek.
"Morning, mamma." I hug her back. "Where's papa?" I ask her.
"Your father decided to take over in the kitchen with the boys." She laughs and tells me.
I make my way into the kitchen and see my dad with Lorenzo and Antonio at the stove, all laughing and smiling.
"There's my princess." Elena reaches for Caterina. "Thank you, jas."
"No worries." I walk over to Lina and see her looking down at her phone. "Morning." I hug her.
"Hey, mami." She croaks.
"Are you alright?" She puts her phone down and I see a picture of her and Stefano. "That's a cute photo."
