Tom keeps by my side the entire walk to The Great Hall for breakfast.

Much closer than usual.

His hand stays on the bottom half of my back, leading me through the halls.

I don't mind, of course, but it's just different.

Though, I don't think he seems to notice.

As much as I didn't want to eat here for breakfast, I decided it would be better for me to just get over with then hiding in my room forever.

Tom leads me to the farthest end of the table, right on the edge of the bench.

"All the way out here?"

-I ask as I begin to pull things onto my plate.

"What? I thought you didn't want to be next to anyone?"

-He says, seating himself on the left, next to me.

"You're right, I don't, but this just seems kind of...dramatic?"

He looks around at the tables, looking at the ones in front of us and behind us, before speaking again.

"No, it doesn't."

"I-"

-I stop myself from speaking, not wanting to ruin the mood.

"Yes Tom, you're right."

-I speak to him in a very childlike voice.

"Just finish your food so we can get out of here."

I roll my eyes, beginning to eat and he turns his head away, staring at the other tables.
