This is how it started (Elementary Series #01)

Chapter 10

"Happy New Year, Sylver!!" I greeted him when I already saw him going down.

"Happy New Year Liya, mukhang buong taon kang magiging maingay ah" pag-bibiro niya kaya naman natawa lang ako.

"Happy New Year" Sev greeted him while smiling.

"Mukhang may buong taon na ngingiti. Happy New Year din. Anong ginagawa niyo dito?" sabi ni Syl at inaya kami sa kusina. I saw tito and tita; Syl's parents so I greeted them too, Sev did the same. They both greeted us as well. Tita prepared a food for us.

I told Syl what happened during our New Year's celebration and he did the same to us. He told us a lot of things that happened to him.

We bid good bye when yaya said mom is asking for us to go home already.

"See you sa school" I said to Syl while waving my hands.

"See you" he said to the both of us, we then finally walked away.

Sev bid a good bye as well. I just nodded and waved my hand at him.

Today is our back-to-school day. I am already ready and prepared, Sev is waiting outside already as well. Ngayon din naming malalaman kung sino ang kasali sa Top 10, nagtext kasi si Ma'am kay Mommy about it.

"Do you think, I am included in Top 10?" I asked Sev once we enter the bus.

"I think you are even over that. But I'm sure you're the top 1" he said as my supportive best friend.

"Baka nga. Kapag top 1 ako, ibibili kita ng snacks mamaya"

"No need for that. I am in the top as well for sure" he confidently said to me and I congratulated him and he did the same so we both end up laughing. Hindi pa naman kasi namingalam ang result e.

"Good morning!" Syl greeted us and we greeted him as well. We got in the school and went in our bulletin every room to see who the top students are.

Top 10 students: Grade 1- Jose Rizal

1. Milina Ayannah A. Sandoval

"Sabi na nga ba Top 1 ka e" sabi ni Jiro sakin, siya ang sumunod sakin sa top list.

"Top 2 ka, Ang galing natin, tsaka ikaw din Nica" sabi ko naman kay Nica na kakarating lang at ngayon ay tinitingnan ang list. Top 4 naman si Nica. Nginitian naman ako ni Nica at nakipag-apir sakin.

Pumasok na kami sa room pag-katapos ng flag ceremony.

"Have you seen the Top 10 list?" teacher asked us and we all nodded in unison and answered "Opo"

"Congratulations sa inyong lahat, hindi lang ang Top 10 ang dapat ma-congratulate dahil lahat naman kayo nakapasa kaya congratulations sa inyong lahat. Now after I call your name say present, just like our usual attendance checking"

Our teacher proceeded from attendance until she discussed our lessons.

The weeks passed by, today is Monday. The SSG officers are currently in front of our room. They were discussing about the programs on February 14, Valentine's Day. They said that there will be a lot of booths, foods, flowers, sweet things that we can give to our parents or crushes. Wala naman akong crush ngayon e. Next Valentine's na lang siguro, o kaya naman para na lang sa tatlo kong boy friend. Sila Sev, Noa at Syl. Tapos bibili din ako para kay Mommy at Daddy.

Meron daw magiging ambagan every Grade para sa Valentine's Day booths and prizes. Meron din daw pageant at dance competition na dapat bawat Grade ay merong performance.
